• Based upon the three major fundamentals. Paisa, power & politics, this movie brilliantly portrays how two major competitors use cunning tactics to grab an important deal.

• This movie also lays emphasis on how human emotions are greatly manipulated just for the sake of profit.

Vinay Sehgal• MD, Sehgal group of industries.• He is a modern and ambitious businessman

who has just one clear objective about business- profit. His attitude is projected as “egoism”

“Egoism is an ethical theory that treats self respect as foundation of

morality.”

Dharmesh Marwah

A rather orthodox but tranquil businessman, Marwah is slightly a step behind than Sehgal as most of the time he does business conventionally. Every step that he takes, he seeks advice from his “guru” (god-man)

Nishigandha Das Gupta• A loyal and dedicated top level executive in Sehgal Group. She

takes actions all for the benefit for her company.• A very smart career oriented woman, she is always thinking

from the perspective of the profit of the company.• The character initially depicted that she was manipulative and

unethical, but towards the end we observe that she has a conscience which somewhere

forbids her to conduct unethical practices in the company and be empathetic. “the tact that she uses to stealCompetitor’s information is calledindustrial espionage”

Ritesh Sahani

• Senior Vice President of Sehgal Group, and brother-in-law of Vinay Sehgal. He also shares close relationship with Nishigandha.

• He has a high intellect which enables him to formulate various

genius strategies for the benefit of Sehgal group.

Pervez Merchant

• CEO of Marwah group. He is one of the most valued person in the group.

• He is a womanizer by nature. Being the CEO, he was trusted with some confidential documents. But he is tricked by Nishigandha,

and she steals all the information from him. This leads to him being fired from the company.

Naveen Shroff

• CEO in Sehgal Group. He is a dedicated person like Nishigandha. He is the only person who depicts ethical attributes. To him, his conscience is above all.

• He depicts Kantianism“Kantianism theory says that a person takes decision upon his morality, despite of organisation’s rules and regulation.”

• Shirley- An employee in Marwah group who leaks all the internal information to Nishigandha.

• Mukesh Tyagi- an employee in Sehgal group, who cheats his organisation by selling secrets to Marwah’s group.

• Gulabrao Ingle- state finance minister who has the authority to hand over the PSU project to either of the two corporate giants, who so ever bribes him with best offer.

• The unethical aspect that we come across in Gulabrao’s character is psychological egoism concept.

Major unethical twists in the movie

• Stealing confidential information from the competitor’s laptop while tricking him.

• Thereafter, launching a mint based soft drink (which initially was Marwah’s idea)

• Bribing the FDA for acquiring the license for the soft drink plant

• Neglecting the issue of being pesticides found in the soft drink.

• We come across the darker side of the corporate world

• We see how people are emotionally and physically exploited just to gain profits

• We learn the role of politics and god-men in controlling the structure of a business

• We learn how even the giants in corporate world are driven majorly by unethical practices
