“During the winter months, when less leaves are on the trees, our giraffes, okapi, gorillas and colobus monkeys benefit hugely from browse silage to help fulfil their nutritional, physiological and behavioural needs. Barrels are filled with leaf matter (browse) over the summer and sealed up for winter use. Silaging browse material is a brilliant, but time consuming way to preserve feed for the winter, and the help of corporate volunteers is greatly appreciated by all.”

Greater one horned rhino, field survey, Nepal Did you know? ZSL has a long conservation history in Nepal, with a focus on the endangered greater one-horned rhino and Bengal tiger which are threatened by the effects of a growing human population and poaching.
