Burgh House is an elegant 18th-century home hidden amongst the cobbled streets of one of London’s loveliest villages. Just steps from the breathtaking views of Hampstead Heath, it feels a world away from the bustling city beyond. A beautiful family home until the 1930s when Rudyard Kipling’s Daughter Elise and her husband Captain George

Bambridge were the last to take residence, Burgh House is steeped in 300 years of history. Today its historic panelled rooms provide a flexible and unique backdrop for wedding ceremonies and receptions, and our dedicated staff guarantee the highest level of service to ensure your day is truly memorable.

Burgh House is licensed to hold wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships in two of its historic rooms.

The Music RoomInvite up to 72 guests to join you as you walk down the aisle and make your vows in front of

our baby grand piano, or for more intimate ceremonies circle your guests around the marble fireplace.

The LibraryUp to 15 guests can gather in the cosy Library for a truly romantic ceremony.

Once you have booked with us you will need to book a registrar at Camden Town Hall to officiate your ceremony.

The staff really made sure everything was exactly as we wanted it to be: the food was fantastic; the drinks were flowing; the musicians, registrars, cake, flowers and everything else were seamlessly organised, and Burgh House of course looked splendid in all its glory that

afternoon and evening! It really was the ideal venue for us, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others. We are so grateful.

The charming and intimate panelled spaces of Burgh House are yours for your reception. Our dedicated in-house event

caterers provide a bespoke service tailored to your exact requirements. Host an elegant champagne reception, treat your guests to a delicious afternoon tea, nibble canapés or

seat your guests for a fully served dining experience.

Whatever your dream for the dayour team will help you realise it.

CapacityWe can provide a seated wedding breakfast

for up to 72 guests, and 110 guests can enjoy the house for a standing reception.

AvailabilityBurgh House can be booked for ceremonies and receptions on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays between 10:00am-10:30pm, and on all other days before 12:00pm and after 5:00pm.

MusicWe have a beautiful baby grand piano available for your use, and other non-amplified music is also welcome at Burgh House.

You are more than welcome to bring your own musicians, or we would be delighted to recommend one for you.

RegistrarsIf you are having a Civil Wedding or Civil Partnership at Burgh House you will need to book the Superintendant Registrar at Camden Town Hall to perform the ceremony.

They can be reached on 020 7974 1900 and will charge independently for their service. If you live outside Camden you will both also need to give notice to the Superintendent Registrar of the district(s) in which you live.

Kitchens and Events Catering

As the dedicated in-house events caterers for Burgh House we provide an excellent service

tailored to your requirements. Run by a team of expert 'foodies', we source our ingredients from small, local suppliers who support our beliefs in fair trade, sustainability and the finest quality. All our menus are cooked from raw seasonal

ingredients on site, and we believe you'll taste the difference.

We’ve had so many compliments about the food, the location and the whole event and it’s thanks to you that it went so well. Thank you also for being a pleasure to work with, flexible and helpful right up to the last minute. Burgh House is a

Public TransportTube: Hampstead, Northern Line (5 min walk)Overground: Hampstead Heath (15 min walk uphill)Bus: 46, 268 to Hampstead High Street (5 min walk)

Parking Parking is largely residents only. There are some pay and display bays in the area and a small car park serving Hampstead Heath on East Heath Road. We regret that we cannot guarantee places and advise using public transport or taxi where possible.

TaxisWe are within the black cab zone and can provide a list of local firms on request.

Bus HireMany of our guests choose to hire a Routemaster bus to transport their guests to and from Burgh House. We advise the hire company to check the route beforehand as many of the local streets are very narrow.
