American Auto-Matrix has always realized the importance of open systems architecture for Building Automation

Systems. We pioneered the concept of open protocols for building automation systems in the mid 1980s with

our Public Host Protocol (PHP) and Public Unitary Protocol (PUP) systems. AAM's philosophy of open

communication systems finally became widely accepted and specified in the industry decades later with the

emergence of BACnet and LonMark. Today American Auto-Matrix manufactures product which adheres to

these industry standards and continues to lead the way in the world of open architectures.

The American Auto-Matrix system architecture is built upon the notion of open protocols and backwards

compatibility. Our controllers have a legacy of innovation and performance - a legacy that continues today. All

of our products feature generation-to-generation compatibility, which means each new product is carefully

engineered to build on and function smoothly with its predecessors. This built-in non-obsolescence means

greater economy for owners and managers of buildings and networks where our products are in use.

AAM Unitary controllers can operate stand-alone or networked together to form a complete system. From small

stand-alone buildings, to multiple building networks, to enterprise wide applications, the AAM system offers the

same level of durability, functionality, and flexibility wherever they are found.

The American Auto-Matrix system can communicate and coordinate functions among multiple and differing

control systems within a building or network. The AAM system interfaces directly with our Auto-Flow Laboratory

and Fume Hood control system through both PUP and BACnet. In addition, our more than 30 BTL (BACnet Testing

Laboratory) listed Native BACnet controllers offer an open choice. By offering systems that not only communicate

with earlier Auto-Matrix legacy systems, but also with other control systems, the AAM advantage means much

higher cost effectiveness, system reliability, ease of installation and fast, economical upgrades to building

    controls systems without vendor lock-in.

End users will find our web-enabled area control solutions powerful and intuitive. The AspectFT product family

enables users to monitor and control their building automation system in real time from anywhere in the world.

AspectFT is a Linux and Java based runtime engine found on an array of AAM devices for small to large

building control and integration applications that performs a wide variety of building management functions,

including Alarm Management, Trend Management, and Scheduling. AspectFT serves user defined web pages

that allow for the transfer of information through web browsers like Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla

Firefox, and Apple Safari. Users can also receive critical information to their smart devices, computers, and

phones through applications like Twitter, RSS, and email. AspectFT even integrates scheduling with the

iCalendar protocol, giving the end-user the ability to schedule their building through familiar programs like

Microsoft Outlook 2007 and Google Calendar.

The power and flexibility of AAM's products, combined with backward compatibility and constant future

innovation, assures our customers that American Auto-Matrix will always be their system of choice.

The American Auto-Matrix System Architecture provides the capability to achieve ecient and powerful Building

Automation Control. Utilizing the power of AspectFT, our system architecture provides a robust platform for

integrating multiple data sources into one unied solution. With the AspectFT control engine, you are not limited

to just one solution. As the Facilitating Technology (FT), this software platform is based upon open-standards used

within multiple industries. Designed to perform control sequences and building management routines from an

array of device platforms, AspectFT can communicate utilizing drivers such as BACnet, PUP, and Modbus. Through

varying aspects of the software, a solution can be scaled based on size and control they expect.

Flexibility through Proven Methodologiesand a Widely Accepted Open Protocol

For decades the laboratory control engineering

community has been forced to select between

various control philosophies for fume hoods when

choosing a product line. These include open loop

    control utilizing calibrated pressure independent

venturi valves, hood pressure schemes, and closed

loop control based on actual face velocity flowmeasurement.

With the Auto-Flow Critical Environments product

line, the choice is easy. We offer safe and effective

means for accurate and precise control of fume

hood applications through controls and peripherals

designed to meet your specification needs.

Through patented technologies as well as other

    methodologies, combined with Native BACnet

control, installations can connect seamlessly to any

    American-AutoMatrixHVACcontrol system,aswell as

most Native BACnet compliant system. Installations

can also utilize either Face Velocity measurement or

Sash Areacalculation methods. This, in combination

with a full color touch-screen display, which offers

unique set-up capabilities, as well as visible and

audible multi-stage alarming, creates a solution that

offers flexibility found in no other product line.

    Auto-Flow provides solutions that encompass

the needs of all parties involved in the Critical

Environment process. This is achieved through

providing a solution that not only communicates in

a widely accepted open protocol, but offers a level

of flexibility in which multiple familiar and proven

methodologies are available. This, in turn, createsan environment whereby retrofits, new installations,

and additions can be achieved without increasing

    the learningcurve or introducingunfamiliarmethods

    or technologies, increasingsafetyaswell assavings.

    Educational Services

Education and training are the stepping-stones to the

success of any new Solution Integrator or end-user. The

Training Center for Smart Building Solutions, located at

the American Auto-Matrix headquarters in Export, PA, is a

state-of the art training center that offers a wide range of

workshops surrounding the AAM product line.

The training center offers theoretical and hands-on

workshops that allow students to become competent

with the use of AAM products and technologies. The

workshops are not only provided for the success of the

Solution Integrator, but also for the success of their customers as well. End-users are welcome and receive

the same level of instruction as the Solution Integrators.

Also included in the AAM training repertoire is the new AspectFT & Matrix Network Area Controller on-line

training course. For years the training center has exclusively offered on-site and off-site training, but now is

offering this web-based workshop. Look for more classes to follow.

    Sales & Marketing Support

The American Auto-Matrix / Solution Integrator relationship is a co-operative process between many people.

We believe the success of any relationship is predicated on this cooperation and strive to do our part.

Our Sales and Marketing departments are

committed to providing support to all of

    our Solution Integrators. The co-operative

    sales and marketing efforts available

include visits from corporate personnel to

    your customers, engineers, and end-users,

    project reference listings, custom

company store items, links to our website,

lunch and learn sessions, and sales calls.

    American Auto-Matrix also offers the

    Co-Op Marketing plan. AAM's Co-Op

Marketing is an opportunity for Solution

Integrators to customize AAM promotional materials to reflect their business and image. American

Auto-Matrix will work with Solution Integrators to develop custom content to create a cohesive marketing

    presentation.

Smart means our products are designed to think like people, not like machines. We continually strive to design

and develop technologies for the building automation industry which change the way people think about their

buildings. Our products provide comfort, safety, and cost effective design for the future.

Building originates from our focus on relationships. The success of each project is based on the relationships

that are developed with our Solution Integrators and their customers. This relationship is key to how well our

products serve the needs of people.

Solutions reflects our many technological innovations including the first to offer direct digital control (DDC) and

open communication protocols, generation-to-generation compatibility, patented laboratory and fume hood

controls, and access control systems, as well as unparalleled support and service to our Solution Integrators.

AAM installations include places such as the American Museum of Natural History where exhibits such as

Leonardo da Vinci's Codex Leicester: A Masterpiece of Science required controls to regulate climate to preserve

the last privately held manuscript of Leonardo da Vinci; and the Zeiss Star Projector, one of the most advanced

projectors in the world, that utilizes AAM controls to regulate temperature and humidity. Installed sites also

include the University of Maryland, ranked by the Carnegie Foundation in the top tier of national research

universities, which uses the Auto-Flow laboratory control system because of its unique capability to provide a

total fume hood control solution that "allows for maximum efficiency and increased energy savings while

providing precise temperature, humidity, and pressure control throughout the day for students and faculty alike." *

Our American made products, approach to open systems, commitment to backwards compatibility, and

continuous technological innovation, coupled with the best customer service and support, makes American
