Coronavirus Staff Pocket Guide Symptoms of Coronavirus: fever/high temperature (37.8C or more) new continuous cough loss of,or change in, sense of smell or taste Page 1 A new continuous cough is where you: have a new cough that’s lasted for an hour have had 3 or more episodes of coughing in 24 hours are coughing more than usual Page 2 Test and Protect 1 If you have symptoms (however mild) in the last 7 days, stay at home for 7 days from the start of your symptoms and arrange to be tested. 3 Remain at home until you get the result of the test, and then follow the advice you will be given based on the result. 4 You can arrange a test online by visiting https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/ infections-and-poisoning/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-covid- 19-general-advice, or if you cannot go online, phone the coronavirus helpline (0800 028 2816). 2 Do not go to your GP, pharmacy or hospital. People must by law wear a face covering in shops and on public transport and public transport premises such as railway and bus stations and airports. This applies to open-air railway platforms, but not to bus stops. 3 There is no evidence to suggest there might be a benefit outdoors from wearing a face covering unless in a crowded situation. 4 Physical distancing, hand hygiene and respiratory hygiene are the most important and effective things we can all do to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Face Covering
