Cornwall Youth Advisory Committee
• Serves the population of Cornwall by empowering youth to make a difference in the lives of others
• Dedicated to providing youth with a forum to contribute to the development of solutions to make Cornwall a more youth-friendly community
Youth Friendly Community Program
Each month, CYAC holds a meeting with Lorne Taillon, Arts and Leisure Coordinator, to discuss one of the sixteen criteria and brainstorm for examples of how Cornwall is a Youth Friendly Community.
CYAC’s First Appearance in the Santa Claus Parade
For the very first time ever, CYAC took part in the annual Christmas Parade which runs from St Lawrence High School to the Royal Canadian Legion.
“Five Golden Rings” was the theme. A white City pickup truck was transformed into a black canvass carrying a Christmas tree decorated in gold and five adolescents. The teens were all dressed in black in order to showcase the five large golden rings attached to the truck. Hundreds of gold glow sticks were thrown into the crowd.
