Cornwall Development Companymanages the Cornwall Works for Social Enterprise DWP contract on behalf of Cornwall Council with a dedicated support team

Cornwall Works is delivering as part of

Cornwall’s Local Area Agreement and will

help more people move into work, stay in

work and progress in work.  It will

focus on individuals and groups who are

most disadvantaged in the labour market 

Cornwall Works for Social

Enterprise delivery providers are

recruiting at least 1500 unemployed

people onto the programme and

supporting over 550 into

employment. 

Cornwall Works for Social

Enterprise engages with employers

to match the needs of programme

participants with employer’s needs.

 

A range of marketing materials including

banners, posters and postcards have been

designed using the Cornwall Works brand

to promote the programme to both

participants and employers

Cornwall Works for Social Enterprise

provider organisations hold a market

style event to promote the programme

to referral agencies 

Cornwall School for Social

Entrepreneurs promotes new social

enterprises and supports

participants choosing a self-

employment option

 

Trainees at Jamie Oliver’s

Fifteen Cornwall restaurant go on to

become qualified chefs

Participants who volunteer at

Citizens Advice Bureau receive

support and training to become paid

advice workers

Volunteers at ReZolve develop their

skills and learn about the recycling

business at the Re:Source training

centre

The Eden Project has offered

employment to programme

participants

Cornwall’s mental health charity

Pentreath raises awareness with

employers

Work placements with DMT

Business Services prepare

participants for employment

Real Ideas Organisation provide

participants with training for local

job opportunities

Cornwall Council welcomes a

delegation from Germany visiting

‘best practice’ providers with ESF
