explain to your grower readers, listeners & viewers the multiple choices
available to them from Pioneer!
2013 NCGA Yield Contest • Congratulate David Hula of Charles City, VA for
breaking the corn yield world record! – 454.98 bushels per acre – Pioneer® hybrid P2088YHR
– 1st, 2nd or 3rd in NCGA corn yield contest since 1993.
• Pioneer “400 Bushel Club”

IMPACT™ plot: Improving Performance
Introducing Optimum® Leptra™^ Hybrids
Pioneer® brand Optimum® Leptra™^ hybrids feature a powerful combination of three insect protection traits (Herculex® I, YieldGard® Corn Borer, and Agrisure Viptera®) for multiple modes of action & superior protection against a broad-spectrum of above-ground pests.
These products offer flexibility for late planting, providing reliable protection against ear-feeding pests in high-pressure environments for customer peace of mind.
They also help deliver cleaner ears with less kernel damage, protecting yield and limiting one of the primary factors for development of molds and mycotoxins.
Optimum Leptra insect protection is available in four hybrids with limited quantities for 2014 planting:
P1319VYHR P1401VYHR P1637VYHR P1794VYHR
Extensive field research with Optimum® Leptra™^ hybrids helps us characterize efficacy and product performance across a wide range of environments.

Superior efficacy against Southern lep pests
Over the past two years, DuPont Pioneer scientists have conducted pest studies to compare Optimum® Leptra™^ insect protection to existing technologies
In these studies, Optimum Leptra hybrids have shown to reduce feeding from corn earworm by 97% compared to non-Bt hybrids

CRW – What is Known
• Resistance can lead to trait failure and result in significant yield loss from rootworms.
• Field evolved western corn rootworm resistance to Monsanto VT3, VT3P (Cry3Bb1) products has been documented.1,2,4
• No documented resistance to the HXRW rootworm trait in Pioneer® brand Optimum® AcreMax® 1 (AM1), Optimum® AcreMax® Xtra (AMX) and Optimum® AcreMax® XTreme (AMXT) products.
• No documented cross-resistance between Monsanto VT3, VT3P products and HXRW rootworm trait in Pioneer brand AM1, AMX, AMXT products.2,4
• Pioneer believes any messaging that all single-trait below ground products are failing is misleading.

Optimum® AQUAmax® “Drought Leader” .
Source: From 2011-2013, Pioneer® brand Optimum® AQUAmax® products were grown in 42,084 on-farm comparisons across the United States against competitor brand products (+/- 4 CRM). Water-limited yield data includes
5,203 competitive comparisons with a win ratio of 67 percent, and favorable environment includes 36,881 competitive comparisons with a win ratio of 57 percent. Water-limited environments are those in which the water
supply/demand ratio during flowering or grain fill was less than 0.66 on a 0-1 scale (1=adequate moisture) using the Pioneer proprietary EnClass® system and in which the yield average of competitor brand hybrids at the location
was less than 150 bu/acre. Favorable growing conditions are locations where yield levels were at or above 150 bu/acre on average, regardless of water supply/demand ratio. Precipitation levels are interpolated values based on local
weather stations. Product performance in water-limited environments is variable and depends on many factors such as the severity and timing of moisture deficiency, heat stress, soil type, management practices and environmental
stress as well as disease and pest pressures. All hybrids may exhibit reduced yield under water and heat stress. Individual results may vary.
