The cycle of corn

• In the spring, farmers plant the corn. In the summer the corn has lots of sunshine and water to grow. Then once in October it is harvest. Then grinded up so only the real corn is left.

What corn is used for

• Corn is used for cereal, cornmeal, fall decorations, animal feed, corn muffins, corn bread, flour, and popcorn.

• Corn is planted in many different states like Iowa and Nebraska.

Interesting facts

• 1,139,250,000 bushels of corn was harvested in 2001.

• Only 83 counties plant corn. 10 less than beef cattle.
