Creating A Document
When saving a document, you can name it. If you name the document at the beginning of your session, all you need to do is press CTRL+S at any timeto save your work.
A destination in computer graphics terms means “where the design you draw will be displayed”
These options are where to set your page size. There are a number of different units of measurementsyou can choose from and select Landscape or Portrait orientation.
You can add, take away, and rearrange a multiplepage document at the beginning of your session,or anytime throughout.
Color mode for graphics file holds great importance. It affects how colors are printed and displayed. You can choose from RGB or CMYK.
The word resolution here means how many dots you want the printer to use to render your artwork to the desired material(s).
The best option is Enhanced mode. It will providethe maximum viewing quality.
This is a crucial feature that greatly affects andprotects your artwork when printed.

Page Sorter is a view that provides youwith a broad look at your document and all its pages. In this view, you can add, delete, move, or copy pages in a singleview. You can also change the Paper/TypeSize and the page orientation of all thepages or just selected pages.
A CorelDRAW document can contain pages of different sizes, which can be very handy when you are designingmatching business cards and letterheadsor other similarly related materials.
To open your document and all its pagesin Page Sorter View, Choose VIEW ---> Page Sorter View
A single click selects a page. Holding SHIFTwhile clicking pages enables you to select ordeselect contiguous multiple pages. Holding CTRL while clicking enables you to select or deselect noncontiguous pages.
Object ManagerThe Object Manager dockeroffers the advantage of massediting page names fromwithin a single docker. To open the Object Manager, chooseWindows -> Dockers -> ObjectManager. Once the docker is open, you want to be able to see all the pages in your document, so firstmake sure the Layer Manager Viewis set to All Pages, Layers, and Objects.
Dropping A CopyRight-click + Drag, Release, use the pop up menu Left-click + drag, then click both buttons, release.
Hit the Spacebar Key repeatedly while left + dragging a shape to make multiple copies.
This is the easiest way to copy an object quickly if you are just getting used to a point-and-click device
This is considered the traditional “drop a copy” CorelDRAW technique.
This method is used for duplicating when you want a quick way to populate a page with the same object.
Drawing ShapesCorelDRAW offers a varietyof tools for drawing shapes.
The Rectangle tool gives you the option to apple corner “roundness” based on a percentage value. Roundnesscan be set either manually by dragging a corner with the Shapetool or by using the Property bar’s Corner Roundness option.
If you unlock the Edit Corners Together toggle button, you canmanually enter different values for each of the four corners.
Corner Roundness is one of three different effects you can applyand dynamically edit when you’re into rectangles. Corner Roundness, as well as the Scallop and Chamfer corner styles, canbe applied to rectangle from a value of 0 to about one-half the overall length of one of its sides.

Edit Text
When you use the TEXT tool, you can produce two different types of text objects in a document: Artistic Text and Paragraph Text.
Formatting options can be accessed from the TEXT Property Bar ORfrom the menu Text --> Character Formatting
Artistic TextArtistic Text is best for illustration headlines, callouts, and other occasions when you want to create text with a specialeffect such as extrusion, an envelope, text on a path, and so on. To add a line of Artistic Text to a document, with theText tool, click an insertion point and then type your phrase; alternatively, after clicking an insertion point you can pressCTRL+V to paste any text you have loaded on Windows’ Clipboard. To create several lines of Artistic Text, pressENTER when you want to skip to a new line and then continue typing.
Paragraph Text
Paragraph text can be used for larger bodies of text that have greater formattingrequirements. It is most often used when creating columns for names on aplaque, or wrapping text around an object.
Align Objects
Controlling the OrderObject order is another of the basics you need to know to organize shapes. Setting the order of objects lets you set whether an object appears in front of, or behind another object. When overlapping objectsare ordered, they appear in front of or behind each other, according to their order.
BRIGHT IDEAS
The new Fit Text to Path or arcing option is a majorchange in CorelDRAW 7 compared to earlier versions.
It is far more interactive, and it’s much easier to usemultiple paths on the same arc, or path.
With Fit Text to Path, you can add artistic text alongthe path of an open object (a line) or a close object

2. Click TEXT > FIT TEXT TO PATH. The pointer changes to Fit text to path pointer. As you move the pointer over the path, a preview of where the text willbe fitted is displayed. You will also see the distance between the text preview and the path displayed.
Adjusting Text on a PathThere are several options for adjusting your text on the Text onCurve/Object property bar shown above.
After you fit text to a path, you can adjust the text’s position relative to that path. Using the Pick Tool, you can move text along or off the path by dragging the red glyphthat appears beside the text.

The Cropping Tool works with both vector and bitmap graphics. You could achieve the same with the Trim Option in the Shaping Tool, but it’s far more time consuming.

QR CodesQR code (abbreviated from Quick Response Code) is the trademark for a type of matrix barcode (or two-dimensional barcode)
QR-Code Data CapacitiesNumeric only Max 7,089 charactersAlphanumeric Max 4,296 characters
How They Work?Take a mobile phone such as the iPhone in today’s world; nearly every mobile phone has a digital camera. The camera, along with decoding software, can be used to capture a picture of the QR-Code, for which the QR-Code software decoder can then transform the data held within the QR-Code to a meaningful action for the mobile phone to:
Connect to a web addressDownload a MP3Dial a telephone numberPrompt your email client with a sender address
This can all be done within a matter of milliseconds making the transformation from a users mobile phone to the mobile web instantaneous.
