December’s Trait of the Month Sensitivity

Sensitivity is “carefully using my senses so I can better respond to the people and situations in my life” Sensitivity comes from the Latin word sentio, meaning “to sense; to perceive,” as in a sense of touch. In the human body, the five senses are used to help us stay aware of our surroundings; enjoy things like food,

flowers, and sunsets; and alert us to danger. Our senses help us survive. When a nerve senses pain, it sends an urgent signal to the brain so that the body can respond quickly and appropriately. A sensitive person also uses the five senses

to learn about the people and situations around them in order to have a helpful and kind response.

CHRISTMAS CONCERTThe holiday season is upon us! Thank you to everyone

who participated in our Winterfest! We are now preparing for our Christmas Concert! Mark your calendars! 3rd, 4th and 5th grades will perform on

Tuesday, December 4th at 6:00PM. Performers will meet in the THS cafeteria at 5:30 to warm-up.

Students are NOT REQUIRED to perform but we’d love to celebrate their accomplishments and hard work in class! Permission forms went home before

Thanksgiving break. Please make sure they are returned so we know how many students are performing. All students and their families are invited to attend both concerts! Tickets for adults are $3 ($5 for reserved seating) and students are $2 ($4 for reserved seating), under 4 are free! Tickets may be purchased in advance at the TES front office until Monday, 3rd or at the door.

The attire will be ALL BLACK. Long pants and/or skirts recommended and shirts with writing on them can be turned inside out. Please do not feel the need to purchase anything special for the concert. If you need assistance with clothing for the concert please let me know!

If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Beard at 463-3224 X253. I look forward to seeing everyone at the concerts!

Musically Yours,
