I traveled with International Medical Relief to several poverty-stricken areas of Brazil with a plethora of doctors, PA’s, nurses, EMT’s and volunteers in order to treat thousands of patients who didn’t have any access to healthcare; This was entirely a team-based effort which gave me so much exposure and involvement with hands-on approaches and new information which I gained through working with the doctors and others around me. The trip completely verified that I definitely need to be in the healthcare field, especially pediatrics.
