An exploration in pattern and design, our new fabric by the yard program pays homage to global textile traditions in true Coral & Tusk fashion: stitch by stitch. We proudly introduce embroidered fabrics on our signature 100% natural linen and our custom woven striae linen ground fabrics. With coordinating decorative cushions, large-scale tapestries, customizable tabletop and the flexibility to develop an entire bedding suite, our fabric by the yard is an explosion of pattern and color. Designer Stephanie Housley’s singular answer to classic stripes, lattices, and geometric repeats take turns in thread to comprise a fresh and rich new offering to the marketplace. The designs continue to draw upon Stephanie’s extensive travels worldwide and decades of experience as a textile designer to explore the possibilities of thread, color, sheen, and stitches, all in her distinctive mark-making style.

EMBROIDERED FABRIC
Designer Stephanie Housley’s creative process is a special alchemy of story-telling, illustration, machine embroidery and hand-finishing.
Trained informally at home and then formally at RISD in Textiles, she first creates her irreverent characters and bold pattern designs as original pencil
drawings before painstakingly redrawing them stitch by stitch. Designs are machine-embroidered at workshops in India and are then
finished by hand in her Brooklyn studio.
Stephanie’s vision draws upon the spirit of her foremothers while always paying reverence to the natural world around her. Every Coral & Tusk
product retains the hand-drawn allure of the original illustration, now with the satisfying tactile quality of stitches on cloth.
