OUR NOVEMBER 18th, SPEAKERWILL BE CARLOS CAHIZ OF OFE

ORCHID SUPPLIES!Our Guest Speaker for our November meeting will be Carlos Cahiz of OFE Orchid Supplies. Carlos has been a long time supporter of our Society. The program Carlos will present will be a“hands on” program titled “Tips & Tricks Of The Greenhouse”.Carlos will be bringing actual samples of orchid growing productsand explaining how to use them. The orchid growing products willinclude fungicides, fertilizers, insecticides, baskets and pots, andvarious orchid media, growing media, sprayers, and clippers. Carlos was born in Valencia, Venezuela and graduated from theUniversity of Kansas. He has worked in the family orchid supplybusiness for the last twenty-three years. Carlos will provide orchids and supplies for the raffle table & inaddition he will have orchid & supplies for sale that evening. We look forward to seeing everyone at this informative & funmeeting. It is a great opportunity to ask questions from an expertin the field of orchid supplies & growing.

OUR NEXT CSOS "MEMBER ONLY" RAMBLE - December 14, 2019Now that cooler weather is here & the holidays around the corner, Dee & Jess from Natures Relics haveinvited us for a Holiday Wine & Cheese Ramble on Saturday Dec. 14th at 3:30pm. For the newmembers who have never been there, it is a beautiful experience with their many mounted orchids onthe cypress wood. For those of us who attended our last ramble there over a year ago, you are welcometo shop or just relax & enjoy the beauty of the gardens at night. As darkness comes early you will fullybe able to enjoy the music & the lighted gardens extravaganza. The first timers will get a briefintroduction from Dee & Jess on the history of the cypress wood & growing orchids on the mounts. Foranyone who wishes to purchase (great time to get last minute holiday gifts) they take cash, check orcredit card. A separate email will be sent out with more details but for now mark your calendar toattend.

TAMIAMI INTERNATIONAL ORCHID FESTIVAL JAN 17-19, 2020ANY INTEREST IN A BUS TRIP THERE???????

Many of you have asked about a bus to the Tamiami Show in Miami in January. The TamiamiInternational Orchid Festival is Miami's largest, most diverse orchid show. It is a nationally andinternationally recognized orchid event. The Tamiami International Orchid Festival will be thelargest winter orchid show in the United States. There are over 70 vendors! If we have enough members interested in going then we will certainly look into planning a busramble to the show.
