It is a wonderful opportunity for you to let us know more about your child and how we can best support them with their learning. Thank you to all our staff who have engaged in this process and gone above and beyond their normal work day to meet the needs of our school community. Incidents at school We are very proud of the way the majority of our students conduct themselves at school, following our school values each day. Unfortunately from me to me some children make mistakes and do the wrong thing. At Coral Park we work relessly to provide a safe and supporve environment for all members of our Coral Park Family. We must remember that nobody is perfect and we have to educate our children on how to be responsible members of the community. When students make these mistakes we view them as opportunies to educate them on the correct way to behave. We invesgate incidents and apply the appropriate consequences according to the Department of Educaon policies and procedures. We do not condone or tolerate any physical or verbal abuse from students, parents, teachers or the broader community. Drop off and Pick Up I would like to remind all parents that we are encouraging them to say goodbye to their child(ren) at the front gate. This builds responsibility and is a very important value as your child moves through their schooling life. We understand that there are mes you may need to talk to your childs teacher or come to the office and we encourage and welcome you into the school grounds. Remember to let the staff member on gate duty at the beginning and end of the day know the reason for your visit as we don t want to offend anyone by asking for this informaon. Minimising the number of visitors into the school also helps to keep everyone safe. We appreciate your cooperaon and understanding. Music Coral Park has been very fortunate to have a music program that engages 130 students each week in learning musical instruments, with the aim to be able to play in our school band. Due to the popularity of this program, we are now at capacity and have a waing list of over 30 students. Glenn, our Music instructor does his very best to ensure that as many students as possible are involved. Please be paent. As posions become available children who have nominated their interest in the program will commence their sessions. NO STUDENTS TO ATTEND SCHOOL

From the Principal

Meet and Greet It was fabulous to see so many families come and meet their child’s teacher over the course of this week. It is a wonderful opportunity for you to let us know more about your child and how we can best support them with their learning. Thank you to all our staff who have engaged in this process and gone above and beyond their normal work day to meet the needs of our school community.

Traffic Safety Concerns please do the right thing for the safety of all

Parking around the school is always an issue at drop off and pick up times. Most parents are fabulous and do the right thing every day but get very frustrated by the few who endanger the lives of our students. Our road is a 40 zone at all times to assist with safety. Please make sure you practice safe driving and parking at all times to keep our students safe.

Remember:

You must be safely parked in a designated car park before your child exits the car.

Make sure your child gets out of the car on the curb side, NOT the road side.

Parents MUST NOT perform u-turns on Coral Drive. There are enough roundabouts to keep traffic flowing. Do not turn into driveways to turn the car around either, this causes a risk to students AND blocks the traffic flow.

Make sure you cross the road at designated crossing areas. NEVER call your child across the road to meet you, as it is extremely dangerous when children run out from between parked cars. It is also not teaching our children the correct way to cross the road.

Always follow the instructions of the crossing supervisors – it is their job to keep everyone safe while crossing the road.

Breakfast Club

It’s important for your child to eat something nutritious each morning to re-fuel for the busy day ahead. Eating breakfast improves alertness, concentration, mental performance, mood and memory. Skipping breakfast may affect your child’s concentration or leave them feeling ‘fuzzy’.

If your child doesn’t eat breakfast at home, they can visit the artroom from 8.40am each morning ‘take-away’ breakfast of toast, a fruitcup and milk.

Please mind your language… Please remember that swearing, insults and put downs are not acceptable

and do not demonstrate our school value of being RESPECTFUL. Please

discuss the importance of not swearing with your children and assist them

with making good choices if necessary.

Some tips for helping improve your language are;

Ask a friend for help. ...

Find some replacement words. ...

Pretend like your grandma is listening. ...

Train your brain to think differently. ...

Get out the good old-fashioned swear jar.

Please remember to practice social distancing when

dropping your children off and picking them up from

school. Remember to stay at least 1.5metres away

from other people and do not remain outside the

school gates for any longer than necessary.
