Owner’s Rights
The owner of the work has the sole right to reproduce, distribute, perform, display, transmit, or transform that work
Must have permission to use, copy, or reproduce any material from the owner
Fair Use Guidelines
“The Fair Use doctrine was created to allow the use of copyrighted works for criticism and commentary, parody, news reporting, research and scholarship, and classroom instruction” ~Education World
Guidelines for Students
Must use information for educational purposes
Copies are limited to 2; 1 for the classroom and 1 to be put in reserve or a portfolio
Material can only be saved for up to two years
Multimedia
Up to 10% for multimediaMust let audience know that the
material was created using the Fair Use Guidelines
Proper credit must be given to the author, either at the beginning of end of the presentation

Permission Request Form
If the material is going to be taken out of educational context or going to exceed the limit requirements, the user must receive permission from the original owner
