Timber Bearers

Bearers are optional and are ideally for use to raise a building up in the wet areas. Bearers are not to be used to rectified base problem or to be used as bases.

Platform Bases

This is a cheaper option than having a solid base. A Timber base frame manufactured using 100% pressure treated timber 100mm x 50mm with bracing in each corner, This is all supported by 75mmx75mm x 600mm tall pressure treated posts concreted into the ground for stability, this option is well suited for gardens that

Concrete Bases

Our Concrete bases will be a minimum of 100mm thick. The ground must be flat & level, prices based on ground level having no more than 100mm fall. Larger buildings are all priced on application as most are more complex foundations this can require excavation with reinforcing mesh so this is why we offer a free site sur-vey available on request.

BASE OPTIONS

VERTICAL CLADDED SHED

Side Walls 20 x 150mm sawn cladding with on 50 x 50mm planed framing, lined on the inside with a breathable paper.

Door 760 x 1800mm ledged and braced door, hung with the use of black strap hinges and secured with a mortice lock and black handle.

Windows Georgian windows fitted with 4 mm toughened glass set into a joinery made frame.

Floor: 16 x 125mm tongue and groove floorboards on 50 x 50mm tantalised planed floor joists set at no more than 450mm centres.

Roof: Tongue & groove roof covered with Corrugated roof sheets fitted to a 50x50mm roof frame.

Height buildings are less than 2.5m to the ridge up to a 8’ wide gable, and have an inter-nal eave height of 1.9m. Pent roofs are 1.9m at the low side.

Paint Your building is painted with 3 coats of cuprinol colour shades.

Apex wooden products can complete the building from start to finish, from taking down existing

buildings and excavating to the completion with drainage and electricity.

Our sectional buildings are made in pre-made panels for rapid on site construction, Designed to fit onto a concrete slab with 1 or 2 courses of bricks.

Its very rare for us to make the same design of building twice as they are all bespoke to suit your own purpose, Ideal for a range of uses from a garage to pool rooms.

We can take control of the complete service including all the ground works. We can also fit joinery opening double glazed windows wooden or PVC or even double doors they are all listed with

our optional extras.

We are Proud of the Quality of the Materials used in our Static & Mobile stables & Field Shelters. We only use the Finest pressure treated Timbers and Materials for our buildings, put together by skilled craftsmen to ensure you have a Shelter you and your horse will love for many years to come.

Roofing - We only ever use Genuine Onduline as standard for our roofs. This extremely durable roofing system is maintenance free and is available in Black, Green, Brown and Red.

Roof overhang– includes 900mm overhang with optional lining to underside.

Roof purlins - are of 150x50mm Eased Edge Pressure Treated Timber as standard.

Shiplap - We clad our Shelters in Quality Redwood Shiplap. This wood is perfect for exterior use as it ages beautifully and is far less prone to splitting and shrinking than cheaper woods. Our Redwood Ship-lap has been Pressure Treated to ensure Maximum life, and never needs to be Retreated.

Framing - The Key to a buildings strength. We use 75x50mm Eased Edge Pressure Treated Timber as standard.

Kick Boards - We use 12mm ply board for our kick boards around all four sides of the building.

Ironmongery - heavy duty stable door chew strips, T hinges, kick bolts, & pad bolts all supplies as standard.

BESPOKE SERVICE All our stables, field shelters, ménages/arenas are built and constructed by us, with no use of outside contractors. Whilst we offer a range of standard stables, field shelters, because everything is hand built we can design and build to your personal specification. THIS IS THE CUSTOMERS RESPONSIBILITY It is recommended that in very open/exposed areas you strap down the building. D.P.C is the customers responsibility. When an order has been placed you will be given an estimated delivery time. Apex wooden products will not be liable for any problems arising from upgraded alterations by the customer to the exterior or inte-rior of the building. IMPORTANT CUSTOMERS RESPONSIBILITIES Please ensure access is clear i.e. no overhead cables, brick arches or obstructions of any sort. If we have to return to erect the building due to poor base/ poor access or any other reason out of our control, a £35 call out, plus 10% of the building cost will be charged to return to erect the building. Please ensure your base is solid, flat and level. All concrete bases or slab bases must not have shallow or raised areas. Size quoted is the floor size so please allow a roof overhang of 12 inches for workshops, summerhouses, ga-rages and custom builds. Please make sure area around the root and building is clear as stated. Please remember you may need future access to side of your building to treat it. The base is to be the size of the floor with no obstructions i.e. branches, gutters or walls. Our floors are manufactures with tanalised bearers which will sit on a concrete and slab base perfectly, which will give you a 3 inch dry air flow. Al-ternatively if you must lay a bearer base (not recommended), you may use 4 Inch by 4 inch timbers laid short way across every 2 foot. This area must be perfectly level and on an even plain. your bearers must run the short way and must be made of heavier timbers i.e railway sleepers, every 2 foot. 1f you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us. If water penetration occurs we recommend you seal your building with a waterproof paint or sealant. We recommend Protek (royal exterior). More than one coat may be required, check the manufacturers rec-ommendations. Please allow adequate space around your building for future maintenance. Also gutters can be fitted, this stops drips of water being blown on to the building, and also stops splash back onto the bottom of the building. If your sectional building is erected in damp inclement conditions, you must en-sure you leave adequate ventilation to allow the sectional building to dry. If you fail to ventilate the build-ing whilst timbers are drying out, condensation will occur. This will produce drips or runs of water inside the building, which may be mistaken for leaks. Condensation will also build up on the inside of the win-dows. We use heavy duty felt, this is the best on the market because it is manufactured with tar and oil, It can move with atmospheric conditions, this is out of our control.
