RUEDA, the white wine region • Spain has an appellaMon system for wine like France and Italy with the main classificaMon of qual ity wine is Denominación de Origen (DO).
• Rueda gained DO status in 1980, the first DO to be approved in the CasMlla y León region.
• Verdejo is the main variety while Sauvignon Blanc and Viura can also be used.
• Verdejo (ver-‐DAY-‐ho) is the Spanish answer to Sauvignon Blanc.

Copaboca= copa+boca. • It is a name made up two words: – COPA, the glass. – BOCA, the mouth. Or palate. – -‐“de la copa a la boca”-‐, or, easy drinking wines.
