PROJECTS GOALS:

� Development of the national action plan on ESD and National strategy on ESD

� Review of the existing state standards with an aim of integrating ideas and principles of SD and ESD into the system of education in all levels (formal, non-formal and informal)and ESD into the system of education in all levels (formal, non-formal and informal)

� Reorientation of the existing educational programs on ESD

PROJECT GOALS:

� Supply of access to educational materials for

teachers through adaptation and introduction

the informational packs on ozone layer

protection into the system of education in KR

Exchange and distribution of good practices

Tasks for future:� Development of the system of assessment /improvement

of the quality of ESD including the criteria for ESD

� Revision of the Concept of the persistent ecological education in KR to include ESD issues

� Carrying out of the scientific research in the sphere of ESD

� Participation in programs of experience exchange and strengthening the cooperation in the sphere of ESD with other regions and countries

� Introduction of ESD into primary and secondary schools

� Support of practical activities at school campus� Support of establishment of ecoschools and

ecocenters

� Strategy of UNECE on ESD is translated into state language and is placed on the following web-site: www.unece.org/env/esd/strategytext/strategyKyrgyz.pdf

� The multimedia resource “Green Pack” is prepared in sphere of school supply with educational resources which was developed by Regional ecological center of the Central-Eastern Europe, as well as the manual “Precepts of Manas” , “Collection of legends” were published.

� April 2008 - the Fourth meeting of the Steering committee on ESD –the representative of Kyrgyz Republic was elected Vice-Chair of the Steering Committee of the UNECE on ESD

� The sixth meeting of the Steering Committee of the UNECE on ESD -the authorities of the KR representative were prolonged by the decision of countries-members of UNECE, highly appreciating contribution of KR into the implementation of ESD.
