The 2nd part of the kick-off celebration started with a Eucharistic Celebration as we pay homage to the
Almighty. The other part showcases the cooperative officers’ athletic side as they displayed their skills,
creativity, teamwork & camaraderie through the COOPLYMPICS 2017. The Chairperson of the MCDC
Erlinda V. Duque started off with an opening statement followed by an inspirational message by the ever
supportive City Councilor Hon. Ana Katrina P. Yupangco, followed by the Torch Relay and Oath of
Sportsmanship by MCDC officers. Presentation of the different participating teams was announced by the
emcees of the event CDS May Q. Pacleb and Sherwin Keith D. Salazar together with Hellany G. Moreno
and Robert Tiongco. The participants danced their way to the tune of baby-shark by the impromptu Zumba-
dance instructor Mr. Salazar.

officiating the Holy Mass.
Different Filipino games aptly called “Larong Pinoy” tested their mettle. Games like Patintero,
Magtanim Ay Di Biro, Tore Ni Babel gravitated towards the participants’ skills as they stroll down memory
lane back to their childhood days. While the cheering competition harnessed their playful side as they strut
down the catwalk with different cheers of the cooperative they represented. By halftime or lunch there was a
boodle fight between all the participants sharing all that they have in the spirit of cooperativism. At the end
of the day, all came out as winners and the dawning of a new chapter begins with the torch of cooperativism
shines alight.
