A virtual nation in the state of Mind

Conviction

I used to wonder how the gigantic elephants were unable to break themselves free from the chains with which they were chained to the pillar, despite the fact that the elephant has the power to

just push down the entire pillar and free itself.

I then learnt from an Indian philosophy that the mahout ties the chain to the elephant’s leg when it is just a calf, so that it does not run astray. The calf spends a few days trying very hard to break free from the chains, and eventually gives up and stops trying since the chains are stronger than the baby elephant.

Eventually, the calf gets habituated (married) to being chained and allows the chain to become a part of its life, so much so that it even returns to the same spot on its own to allow itself to be

chained by the mahout.

The elephant so rigidly believes it can never break away from the chains that it never bothers to try and free itself from them again.

Similar convictions are the directions, East, West, North and South, of the world, which are convicted to our minds through two-dimensional maps. You will realise this, when you dismantle a globe from the poles to which it was convicted, and start viewing the globe from any angle. I hope you will then see that a world map can be created in countless ways by just creating a split anywhere.

Good Heavening.

Yours LovinglyCap10 Con Fessori.
