Top priority: Safetythe needs for operational safety are growing steadily. the modernisation of older machines specially requires much experience in the choice of the correct safety measures. Münstermann has this experience. our transfer cars and turntables can be equipped with modern safety components such as laser scanners or safety switch actuator strips.

Control system includedthe core competence of a modern transfer car or turntable is an optimal control system. In most cases we fit the switch cabinet on the platform. the wiring of the sensors and actuators is cabled to a terminal box which is to be connected to the customers control system. Control is made by illuminated pushbuttons, touch or mobile panels. on request all drive systems can be frequency controlled.

The right positionModern sensor components ensure correct posi-tioning. the track selector switches are produced as inductive laser range finders. In addition laser range finder or rotary encoders are used on the drive motor.

Transport and control systems for the production of aerated concreteMünstermann has designed and developed special transport, cleaning and oiling systems used in the production of aerated concrete products. this system is an intelligent complete solution and comprises:> oiling station for the casting moulds> transport system in the rising area using rails> transfer cars for the loading and unloading of the autoclaves and the rising area> Cleaning station> transport conveyors for the return of the platforms

the control of the mould oiling can be integrated into the existing control system without any problem.

Special developments are for example the friction wheel drives – useable up to a contact tempera-ture of 160°C – or the special chain conveyor with the steel chain – very dirt-resistant and exceptio-nally reliable.

The kiln car circuit in the ceramic industryIn modern units in the ceramic industry the kiln circuit is characterised by the high degree of auto-mation. Münstermann supplies the components and also provides the electronic control system including the electrical and mechanical assembly. Furthermore you will also receive from Münster-mann the complete control system including the visualisation of all processes and components in the whole unit as well as the control systems of the remaining sections of the plant such as the dryer, stacking facility and kiln.

the design and development of special machines is one of Münstermann’s core competences. Solutions required for special tasks for all areas of application are our specialities. Here are three examples from our experience: Turntables for the production of sea cablesPower cables to wind parks offshore are laid in one piece from the wind parks to the mainland. during the production the cable is put on to a large turn-table. Münstermann designs, develops and produces such turntables with a diameter of, for example, 35 metres and with a load capacity of 4000 tonnes. ancillaries belonging to this unit also include: transportation of the cable from the stranding machine to the turntable, and all the requisite trans-port and cable traction gear as well as accumulator systems.

Forming sections for the glass and stone wool industryIn order to gather the glass and other material fibres together, to enrich them with a binding agent and to transport this to the curing oven special for-ming sections are utilised. these forming sections are mainly responsible for the even distribution of the fibres on to the conveyor belts and are therefore the basis of a high product quality. Münstermann designs, develops and produces forming sections in the most differing sizes and designs.

Cantilever for the paper industryto produce rolls of paper special fabrics are ne-cessary. as this concerns endless rolls the rollers have to be stored on an open-ended cantilever arm so that the fabric can be pulled over the rollers. the whole cantilever section can weigh, depending on design, up to 60 tonnes; the upper arm has a length of 18 metres. the deflection of the upper arm may, with a load made up of several rollers (up to a maximum weight of 160 tonnes), only amount to 120 millimetres measured at the open end of the cantilever.
