EXTERIOR INTERIORWhilst its kinship with the BMW 8 Series Coupé is unmistakeable, the convertible presents its very own elegant character. With the roof closed, the roofline of the new BMW 8 Series Convertible is clearly distinguished from that of the Coupé. The soft-top becomes more compact which creates a striking notchback silhouette. The sculpted bonnet is muscular in appearance and provides a distinct reference to the power beneath it. Whilst at the rear of the new BMW 8 Series Convertible, the full LED L-shaped tail lights extend far into the sides of the car, reinforcing its wide stance and emphasising its sporting credentials.

The BMW Laserlights, featured as part of the optional Visibility package, provide an increased range of more than 500 metres ahead. They illuminate the road in front of you for greater visibility and further enhance the striking and dynamic nature of the vehicle.

The sophisticated interior design of the new BMW 8 Series Convertible presents the perfect balance between dynamics and luxury. New design features include the seamless transition from the instrument panels to the doors and the centre stack, with it appearing to rise from the centre console. The new standard Ambient lighting also enhances the exclusivity of the interior, featuring lighting that gently pulses in certain situations, such as when receiving incoming calls or if any of the doors are open whilst the car is stationary.The refined BMW Individual Extended Merino leather upholstery, available as optional equipment and seen here in Ivory White, provides an exclusive ambience and ultimate seating comfort. To further enhance the luxurious feel of the interior, there is the option of the CraftedClarity glass application – handmade sculpted glass elements specifically for the gear lever, iDrive controller, Start/Stop button and volume control.To really capture your imagination and evoke true joy, the optional Bowers and Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System includes a choice of five amplifier sound settings with a 1,125W output and 12 speakers balanced throughout the car, resulting in an outstanding audio experience for all passengers. The new BMW 8 Series Convertible also features the latest generation iDrive system – BMW Operating System 7.0. BMW collects, stores or processes car-related data in compliance with applicable law and only to the extent necessary to provide the Services. BMW does not collect, store or process personal data in course of the Services – except where this is explicitly stated in the following description of the individual Services. In the case of Services that require personal data to be collected, stored and processed so that such Services can actually be provided, BMW informs customers of this in advance by providing this data protection notice The Services are provided by means of a SIM card installed in the vehicle.

DeactivationThe customer may have the BMW ConnectedDrive Services “TeleServices” (6AE) and “BMW Emergency Call” (6AC) deactivated at any time at an authorised BMW Centre, a regional BMW branch or an authorised BMW workshop. Deactivation of this Service will also deactivate the SIM card installed in the vehicle. This results in the Emergency Call in the vehicle also not functioning. The other Services can also be deactivated by the customer (from August 2014) via the BMW ConnectedDrive Customer Portal (“My BMW ConnectedDrive”).

BMW ConnectedDrive keeps driver and vehicle connected with the outside world. Digital services, driver-focused technologies and driver assistance systems provide more comfort, more entertainment and more safety.
