By Alex, Chris, Dan & Kyle.

Page 2: Convergence

• Convergence is the combination of New Media and Old Media within a single piece of media work.

• A prime example of this would be the combination of video game technology with television, giving people the ability to transform their television sets into a platform for displaying games as well as television shows.

What is Media Convergence?

Page 3: Convergence

• Another example of Media Convergence is the combination of cultures and mediums such as Cinema and Television with new online social media such as YouTube and Dailymotion. This type of convergence in particular has enabled the once audience to become the user and producer.

What is Media Convergence?

Page 4: Convergence

• This is how the consumer can multi-task with different types of media at any given point. This has become more popular with the improved accessibility of different types of media, especially that of new media.

• This means a consumer can often be listening to music, writing an email to friends and watching football on the television at the same time.

Social or Organic Convergence

● Through the high availability of the Internet nearly everything is in reach

● Media convergence is what makes humans so dependent on media as a whole.

● This is because now without leaving their seats they can do everything from talking to friends, watching TV to listening to music all at once.
