Chase ScenesChase scenes are most commonly found in

cartoons, horror films and action films. They don’t always have to be serious, In

cartons the chase scenes are mostly humorous, e.g. Tom and Jerry.

However a lot of chase scenes found in horror films are serious/scary and moreoften than not end in a death or something gruesome.

Action films are similar; very intense and often end with death/explosion.

SettingA lot of chase scenes in action movies happen in

cars on a main road somewhere, for example Drive (2011) or Quantum of Solace (2008).

A lot of chase scenes occur in busy places where things or people are in the way.

However in horror film chase scenes it is often just the characters in the chase scene on their own in a dark place, like a forest etc.

Cartoons could take place anywhereand are always a lot more playful and in no way harmful to anyone.

Music/Sound EffectsHeartbeats and heavy breathing sound effects

are used in most chase scenes that often keep with the pace of the scene and music.

The music in chase scenes is always very intense, upbeat and dramatic. For example the music playing now is “The Chase” from the film Batman Begins. There’s heavy percussion and a lot of the music is orchestrated.

Them music starts out similarly in all chase scenes and will always get more and more intense until the climax.
