In 1991 gaming started to become a normal thing, violent games was at a minority and the closest thing to dying was dropping to

the floor and disappearing but in 1992 Mortal Kombat released and it started a huge war between two tribes : the political world and the world of gaming and things were never

the same the main thing for all of this is MK’s fatality’s which included a guy ripping hearts out, uppercutting a head off and my favourite,

grabbing their head and ripping their spine off, its controversy made the ESRB rating.

• DOOM has been one of the most influential games of all time and is also one of the most

controversial, through its high level of blood and gore and sparked more controversy through the columbine massacre in 1999 after it was found

that Eric Harris and Dylan Kebold, the two responsible, were avid DOOM players and made

a site hosting designed DOOM levels, while planning, Eric said that the killing would be like DOOM and that the shotgun came straight from the game, the game’s has a massive legacy and

is arguably one of the best games ever

• Resident Evil 5 is a game made by Capcom and is the most sold Resident Evil game ever, the game is set in a small village in Africa and that’s when the controversy kicks in, in a extended trailer of the game it shows Chris Redfield, the main character in the game killing black zombies, here is the trailer.

• GTA:The poster boy of violent video games, most known is San Andreas for its “Hot Coffee” mod which was originally removed from the game because the ESRB rated the game “Adults Only” and wanted to lower the rating to “Mature”. The mod is a mini game of the player having sexual intercourse.
