2009-2010 CFF Contract

Contract Renewal: The CFF Contracts were renewed and schools may begin using

1 July, 2009 Changes made to the contract

Who can use the contracts: Individual schools, school districts and intermediate units that receive state or federal funds eligible to be used for the purchase of technology

Schools can use any funding stream to purchase products and services, does not have to be CFF monies. Can be other federal, state, local funds or stimulus funds

Contract can be renewed if CFF not a funded budget line Many options to equipment, services and training.

Unbundled to meet variety of needs

Hardware and Software On-site maintenance is included in the cost of the laptops Every laptop comes equipped with a Vista License downgraded to

Windows XP or the latest version of the Mac OS All software licenses are electronic Software upgrades are guaranteed by the contract Laptops are imaged by manufacturer with current licenses

Reimaging of laptops should be done only as a last resort, not as a matter of habit

New image with upgraded licenses are sent to each school Previous years included Sent on a managed basis

Individual software CDs are available from the supplier at a small charge Image CDs are part of the hardware/software package

School District Responsibilities Provide qualified, knowledgeable personnel capable of:

Managing the hardware/software implementation, if services are purchased making timely decisions necessary to move the installation forward Ensuring local responsibilities and tasks are accomplished provide at least one technical person with system administration responsibilities. facilitate the Supplier’s performance of the implementation

Be responsible for the security of all equipment Communicate all project issues to the Supplier through the appropriate

Contact Provide interactive Classroom configuration for setup and deployment Client to provide IP Address configuration for Laptops Sign-Off upon successful acceptance of work. Test all systems, in all rooms.• Ensure servers and other infrastructure is adequate to sustain new
