The Albany County Sheriffs Office reports the arrest of a subject for Promoting Prison

Contraband charges.

The complaint alleges that Shannon J. Formikell, age 36, of 770 Lawrence St. Rome NY did

send a control substance suboxone to an inmate confined to the Albany County Correctional

Facility. The suboxone was affixed to the envelope behind the postage which is how correction staff

found it. Investigators interviewed Formikell and she admitted having correspondence with her

boyfriend asking her to send the drugs. Formikell was charged with Attempted Criminal Sale of a

Controlled Substance in the 5th

Degree E Felony, Promoting Prison Contraband in the 2nd

Degree

A misdemeanor and Conspiracy in the 6th

Degree B misdemeanor. Formikell was arraigned in the

Town of Colonie Justice Court by the Honorable Norman Massry and remanded to the Albany County

Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail.
