ABS are vulcanized rubber sheets for many applications including scrapers and skirtboard rubber for conveyor belt systems. Various applications are possible. The rubber sheets come without a contact layer and are available in the same quality as CORREX®.

To make conveyor belts continuous or to insert repair pieces, splice material is necessary. Length and dimension of the splice vary from belt to belt. To ensure an optimal splice, ContiTech engineers are available to discuss our customers’ unique applications. ContiTech service teams are able to perform splices worldwide.

PREFORM Splice

The preformed top and bottom panel for the carcass simplify laying down the cords and provide a straight uniform splice. Using PREFORM Splice reduces splice time by 15-25 % over conventional splices.

Adhesives and SolutionsInnovative solutions in conveyor belt technology is to employ cold bonding with contact adhesives for many belt splices and certain repairs. The technique replaces the hot vulcanization which saves time and money.

Conti Secur® BFA

Conti Secur® BFA is a two component contact adhesive for cold bonding applications including both rubber to rubber and rubber to metal. It is designed specifically for cold splicing and cold repair of conveyor belts, but also for all areas of wear and corrosion protections. Continual high adhesion strength is achieved, even for dynamic demands.

Within a short amount of time, damage to either the carrying side or the bottom side of rubber conveyor belt covers can be repaired by a simple filling and bonding procedure using CONREPU. Repairs using CONREPU are a simple, quick and inexpensive solution.
