8:50 - 9:40 a.m. CHANGES IN OPHTHALMIC SURGERY I HAVE WITNESSED OVER 40+ YEARS • Anthony Townsend, MD A look at technology, techniques, and drugs that have advanced the scope of surgery involving cataracts, cornea, strabismus, and glaucoma.

9:55 - 10:45 a.m. DR. GOOGLE: THE PERILS OF WORKING IN HEALTH CARE IN THE AGE OF DIGITAL AND SOCIAL MEDIA • Briar Sexton, MD This course will examine how the internet complicates the way eye care professionals and patients get information.

10:45 - 11:35 a.m. NEW THOUGHTS ON AMBLYOPIA TREATMENT: THE PEDIG STUDIES • William F. Astle, MD, FRCSC, Dipl ABO This course will present the various new approaches to studying basic amblyopia and questions that large-scale multicenter studies have never addressed.

12:45 - 1:35 p.m. A REVIEW OF OCULAR ANATOMY AND CLINICAL TESTING• Christopher Pollock, MD, MSc, FRCSC This presentation will provide a review of the anatomy of the eye, clinical testing, and interpretation of abnormal test results.

1:35 - 2:25 p.m. CATARACT MEASUREMENTS FROM A TECHNICIAN’S PERSPECTIVE • Warren Whitford, COMT Steps to achieve reliable measurements using IOL Master, corneal topography, and A-scan biometry. Incorporating the Barrett Universal II formula, Barrett Toric Calculator, and ASCRS calculator for post refractive surgery patients.

2:25 - 2:35 p.m. BREAK

2:35 - 3:25 p.m. TRIAGING: WHO NEEDS TO BE SEEN AND WHEN • Gillian Massicotte, COMT This course will provide a guideline, as well as a timeline, to help us triage as ophthalmic technicians. We will cover ocular emergencies to elective patients and recognize how this timeline directly affects clinic volume and flow.

3:25 - 4:15 p.m. OPHTHALMIC TRAUMA • Femida Kherani, MD, FRCSC, DABO This course will discuss the principles and management of eyelid trauma repair and lacrimal trauma repair.

HANDOUTS/ONLINE EVALUATIONSA link to course handouts will be emailed to registrants one week prior to the meeting date, as they are not provided onsite. Handouts are available for two weeks. A link to the online program evaluation will be emailed to all verified/confirmed attendees the Monday after the program. Attendees are required to complete the online evaluation within two weeks in order to receive CE credit for the meeting.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDSAll cancellations and requests for refunds must be received by JCAHPO in writing. A processing fee of $75 is deducted from each cancelled registration to cover a portion of the costs JCAHPO incurs. ATPO Memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITSJCAHPO, AOC, and OPS continuing education credits have been approved for this meeting. Continuing education credits earned will be posted on your account at www.jcahpo.org approximately 4-6 weeks after the program for participants who complete evaluation forms.

NOTE: Attendance is monitored for each hour of instruction. Participants absent for more than 15 minutes of any given hour will not receive credit for that hour.
