In 1962 New Zealander John Anderson went to London. He had an idea. He hired a minibus. He filled it with young people who wanted to travel. They toured Europe together, and Contiki was born.

49 years later, the Contiki spirit is stronger than ever. We travel to even more places in North America - & beyond. We have more fun. We meet more people. And we’re trusted by travellers all over the world.

Still exploring. 49 years on.

Check contiki.com to see our latest tours & Definite Departure dates (our most popular tours that are guaranteed to go).

You can also connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube & Flickr.

Know. Then go.

All our tours have free time, every day. So you’ll get plenty of time to do your own thing. Explore the backstreets, find a great place for a bite, or just sit back & chill. It’s your free time & it’s completely flexible.

There’s even more things you can do in your free time with our Explore More optional activities. Whatever you’re into - art, adventure sports, music or food - there’s loads of choice & we’ll sort it out. We’ve even negotiated great prices for you too. More on pages 10-11.

Free time. Your time.

Your Contiki tour gets you lots of extras, for no extra cash.

Imagine cruising at sunset, drink in hand on a catamaran in San Fran? Riding in a limo down ‘the Strip’ in Vegas with champagne? Or having a picnic in the breathtaking Canadian Rockies? All included, plus much more.

You’ll know exactly what you get for your money, so you can plan your trip (& budget) before you go. More on pages 7 & 8-9.

Then there are the extras you can’t buy. Like charging your phone & gadgets as you travel. There’s more unique Contiki extras on page 12.

More extras. For less.

Where we go...

America Go stateside & discover the country famous for hotdogs, Hendrix & Hollywood. Cruise the Sunset Strip, party with the high rollers in Vegas, shop ‘til you drop in NYC or get a nature fix at one of the country’s breathtaking National Parks.

Ride up front on a jeep tour, chopper through the sky for views of the Grand Canyon & spot a gator or two in New Orleans. Feel the chilled vibes in L.A. then finish it up with a generous dose of unbeatable southern hospitality. There’s so much to see & do in the USA & we’re here to show you the best.

Trips from 4-26 days. More on pages 16-39.

Canada Be blown away by the beauty of Canada. From the cultural fixes of the East to the action & adventure of the West, there is so much to discover here. From French speaking Quebec to the melting pot of Vancouver, Canada is one place that you won’t want to miss out on. Try an ice-walk on the Athabasca Glacier, take a flight over the Rockies or saddle up for a wild ride at the Calgary Stampede.

Trips from 11-21 days. More on pages 40-43.

Mexico From its rich cultural traditions, beautiful beaches & diverse natural environment – Mexico is a ‘must do’ destination. With our expert on-road team on hand, get ready for good times. Your Tour Manager & Driver are what really make the difference. They take the hassle out of travelling. They know their stuff just like the locals - where you’re going, the must see sights & places off the beaten track too. They learned the ropes on an intensive training trip, but it’s their passion that is the Contiki difference.

For our crew, it’s not just a job. Like you, they’re travellers who love to explore & share their passion for travel with you.

GETTING AROUNDNorth America is a pretty big place with loads to experience, so on some trips we fly too. This means you’ll get where you’re going faster - so you can spend more time exploring in the places that count. Our coaches are some of the best in North America & we update them regularly to make sure they’re good for the environment too. Sit back in your reclining seat & chill, or tune in while your Tour Manager gives you the low down on where you’re headed. There’s power points for charging your phone & camera too - so there’s no chance they’ll run out of juice (don’t forget your adaptor plug).

Which tours• Winter California Highlights• Winter L.A. to The Bay• Winter Wild Western

These winter itineraries are exactly the same as the regular year round itineraries, right up until the day they depart Las Vegas. After Vegas, they skip the visit to Yosemite, spend 1 night less in San Francisco & pack 3 fun-filled days of snow action at Lake Tahoe instead.

When to goCan’t wait to go? Departures that include Ski Tahoe in the itinerary run from December 2010 to March 2011 & December 2011 to March 2012.

About TahoeLake Tahoe is one of North America’s most beautiful lakes & also one of it’s best ski resorts, straddling 2 states - California & Nevada. It’s the perfect blend of amazingly spectacular scenery, pristine mountains & a pumping nightlife. Where else can you find a place that offers all this natural beauty plus the 24 hour non-stop bling of Vegas-style casinos & clubs?

Contiki travellers can choose to hit the slopes at 3 of Tahoe’s best ski areas including Heavenly, Kirkwood & Sierra-at-Tahoe. The average annual snowfall here is 10.67 metres, so fantastic conditions are the norm. And with so much great terrain, there’s a perfect balance of something for everyone – beginners, intermediates & advanced. Activities don’t just include skiing (both downhill & cross-country) & snowboarding, there’s lots to pick from including ice-skating & snowmobiling.

Note: ski passes, equipment & clothing hire are not included in the tour price. Please visit contiki.com for more info.
