We’ve done some hard bargainingacross Australia so you get the bestdeals. You’ve probably already noticedthat what others call ‘extras’ – to us, areall included as part of the package. Soyou know exactly what you’re getting,so you can plan to a tee (more on page12). Some of our nice ‘surprises’ includefitting our modern coaches with powercharging units & loads of includedsightseeing.

Wetake all the hard work out of your holiday,so you can get down to clocking upsome seriously good times – everythinga holiday should be about.

No younger. No older. Just everyone inbetween. Travel with us and you’ll meetpeople your age and build your globalnetwork big time! All with the aim tosee, smell, taste and live Australia ANDshare some incredible times together. Are you ready?

sk us how!

Held every summer around

Australia, it’s

a showcase for homegrown

musical talent mixing it with some of the

best acts in

the world (Jan or Feb).

Sport is like a religion in Austra

lia and

there’s plenty o

(Aussie Rules, R

ugby League and Rugby

Union), to V8 super cars (F

eb-Sept).

There’s cricket (N

ov-Feb) and the Austra

lian

Open tennis (Jan), plus so

much more.

Of all the memories you’ll make on your trip, what you ate will be right up there with the best of them. Australia has amazing foods to excite (and challenge) your tastebuds! From juicy steaks to some of the world’s best seafood unique to Oz like barramundi fish and Moreton Bay bugs. There’s also Aboriginal bush tucker like witchetty grubs, kangaroo and crocodile. Not to mention the whole other dimension of flavours due to the multi-cultural nature of the country.

We include lots of fresh and tasty meals on all of our tours, but we leave enough mealtimes free (particularly lunches), as you’ll be out exploring in your free time, discovering and doing your own thing.

If you’ve got any special dietary requests, you need to let us know at the time you book your trip. We will try very hard to make sure you’re accommodated, but sometimes things can vary from place to place and we can’t guarantee that you will get meals to your exact requirement.

Your FREE Contiki document wallet andluggage tag* will be sent to you withyour travel documents. The wallet is asafe pla ce for your tickets andpassports, something you’ll want tokeep and use again.

* Contiki reserves the right to substitute an alternative

travel accessory for the Contiki document wallet.

How much luggagecan I bring?Luggage is restricted to a maximumsuitcase size of 73cm x 50cm x 25cm(29" x 20" x 10") and maximum weightof 20 kg (44lbs) plus one small hand/daybag that can go on the coach with you.

On tours which include Flotilla Sailing, a small bag suitable for the extremelylimited luggage space is required. Yourregular luggage will be stored during thistime. NO EXTERNAL METAL FRAMEBACKPACKS PLEASE, their bulkyshape makes coach packing difficult.Contiki reserves the right to refuse toaccept larger suitcases on tour.

Baggage is carried at the owner’s riskand baggage insurance is stronglyrecommended. Remember, if your tourincludes a flight you are also subject toairline baggage restrictions.

How much moneydo I need? You should be able to use debit andcredit cards for most items. You’ll needto allow enough money to coverlunches, some dinners, souvenirs, shopping, drinks, optional excursionsand activities, entrance fees toattractions and evening entertainment.

It is advisable to have some A$ with youwhen you start your tour.

How do I pay? You pay on tour withmajor credit cards or cash (A$).

Am I expected to tipon tour?Every country in the world has differenttipping policies and in Australia, withinservice industries, tipping is commonpractice. Tipping is totally discretionaryand only given if you feel the servicehas met or exceeded your expectations.Your Tour Manager will assist you withany questions about this while you’re onthe road. The same idea applies to yourContiki Crew - if you think they havedone a good job then they would begrateful for your recognition by way of atip, however this is not mandatory – it’scompletely up to you.

BrochureauthenticityWe have put a great deal of effort intoproducing this brochure. Theinformation given and literatureproduced by Contiki has been compiledwith care and is published in good faith.Sometimes, because of circumstancesoutside our control, we have to altersome excursions due to seasonalclosing or repairs to buildings, etc.,especially early or late in the season. If this happens, alternatives will bearranged.

Do I needvaccinations? At the time this brochure went to press(February 2009), no vaccinations werenecessary. However, it is wise to checkup-to-date information with your travelagent prior to departure. Don’t forget tobring with you any medication that youmay require en route, such asantihistamines or antibiotics.

Seasonality &climate?Being such a large landmass, Australia isprone to seasonal climate changes. Thiswill mean that at certain times of the yearsome of our brochured itineraries mayneed to be slightly changed. For example:Northern Territory itineraries during thewet season (December to April).

Travel insuranceContiki very strongly recommend youtake out insurance cover for cancellation, medical expenses, personal accident, personal baggage, money & publicliability before you travel.
