El intercambio Imaginen que viven en una ciudad donde no existe el dinero. Cuando alguien necesita comida o cualquier producto, solamente puede conseguirlo a través (through) de un intercambio (exchange). Su profesor(a) les entrega un cuadro con un menú y una lista de productos para intercambiar. Necesitas conseguir los productos para preparar tu menú; también tienes algunos productos para intercambiar por los que necesitas. Camina por la clase y habla con tus compañeros/as. Escribe el nombre de la persona con quien intercambias los productos. Recuerda usar el vocabulario de esta lección.
Estudiante 1: Hola. Estoy buscando unos espárragos.Estudiante 2: Ay, lo siento, no tengo espárragos.Estudiante 3: Yo tengo unos espárragos. ¿Qué me puedes dar a cambio?Estudiante 1: Tengo carne, jugo de uva, leche…Estudiante 3: Leche, necesito leche.Estudiante 1: Excelente. Entonces yo te doy la leche y tú me das los espárragos.

El intercambio
Time: 30 minutes
Resources: Barter charts
Instructions: Photocopy the barter charts and cut out as many as needed. Give each student a chart and tell them to imagine they live in a city where money doesn’t exist and that the only way to get food is by bartering. Explain that the menus list the items that they need and the items they can exchange to get what they need. Students should walk around the room and talk to their classmates in order to find people they can exchange their product(s) with. Students should write the name of the person they barter with next to each item. Tell students to be prepared to share their menus with the class.
You can create your own exchange charts if you need to. You can also vary the activity by asking students to write their own menu and/or bring real ingredients to class.
