Care for your bronze Key to SculptorsAll of the work produced by Richard Cooper and Company is made using the ‘lost wax’ method of casting and finished by the traditional process of patination. The bronzes are sealed with a protective wax which preserves and enhances the rich layers of patina applied to the surface.
To care for your bronze please use a soft cloth to polish every now and again. With this gentle care you will notice the depth of colour develops over time to be enjoyed for many years to come. Please do not use water or abrasive materials as this may damage the wax coating and patina.

Michael is fast becoming the leading wildlife sculptor of his generation. His work over the last 30 years has steadily become more collectable, and can be found
both nationally and internationally.He was born and bred in “The Potteries” as the region of Stoke on Trent is affectionately called. He studied fine art at Staffordshire Polytechnic and had the good fortune to be there when the ceramic companies were at their strongest, producing leading designs and world class artists and sculptors.Michael’s flexibility is unusual. It is often the case that a sculptor can be talented designing animals but struggles with birds and even more so human form. He is genuinely able to work across all disciplines and in our experience this is a unique talent.For inspiration he has gathered together a vast quantity of reference material, his studio walls being covered, which has a side benefit of making re-decoration a pointless exercise. Often preferring to work in clay especially for the larger commissions, he is sometimes obliged for some of his smaller works to use his blend of waxes since only this material will give the fineness needed.Michael loves working on several pieces at one time, usually choosing a mixture of large and small items which helps his eye tiredness. Some of his smaller pieces require a high quality magnifying head glass which is not too easy to work with because once you remove it vision is distorted.We have had the privilege of working with Michael for many years, and hope for many more to come.

Biographies
Keith Sherwin
Keith was born in Stoke on Trent, the home of the Potteries and trained as a ceramic
artist with Royal Doulton at the Burslem Factory. As a self-taught Sculptor working
in clay he has produced a variety of subjects such as dogs, cats, wildlife and human form.
Keith’s work is admired and collected world wide.

David was born in England in 1945 but spent his youth in South Africa on his father’s
cattle ranch which was situated in the wilderness of what is now Zimbabwe.
He attended art college in Johannesburg where he was introduced to the work of Moses
Kotler a world renowned South African sculptor. This much influenced his early work.
However in subsequent years he decided to study mechanical engineering eventually
graduating from Glasgow in 1970. He then worked as a naval architect until the ship
building industry started to diminish. His real first love of sculpture then re-surfaced and
he concentrated his formidable talents on equine study. His work is now prized amongst
collectors who appreciate his quality and unique style.
David Geenty
Grant studied Sculpture & Ceramic Design at North Staffordshire University, and
began his career in the Design & Modelling studio at Royal Doulton’s Burslem Fac-
tory. Later becoming freelance opened exciting and varied opportunities to develop
his unique impressionistic style. Grant seeks to create sculptures which, whilst accurate
have a personality and character of their own.
Growing up in the rice fields of Ang thong, the central fertile region of Thailand, Sanit spent his
childhood in the countryside absorbing the sights and sounds of nature.
His interest has always been in art and culture, and, after graduating from high school, he decided
to pursue his dream by enrolling in Lad Krabang College of Fine Arts.
He then obtained a BA in Fine Arts from the most prestige art college in Thailand, Silapakorn Uni-
versity.
Early in his career, he worked as an artist’s assistant in the field of painting and etching before dis-
covering his talent for sculpting. For more than 16 years after this graduation, Sanit has been sculpt-
ing a variety of works ranging from wildlife, portraiture and contemporary art, from miniatures to
monumental projects as high as 25 ft.
