Contents1.They have used a very basic colour scheme but it is beautifully moulded around the model’s body and the shadows caused by lighting fit with the white, black and grey colour scheme. This is a very classy contents page, with the black into grey fade. They stick to the codes and conventions of a contents page by using a very large distinctive font but putting a twist on it by moving it around. They also haven’t stuck to the codes and conventions by using an actual picture in the background that links with the contents, instead of having a picture then writing about it. This is an artier version. The grid scheme of writing is quite common in many fashion magazines. But they have used many changes in font and bolds and italics that add a twist to an almost boring layout.

ContentsThis has the basic contents and structure for a normal contents page. This magazine hasn’t tried its hardest to look new and fashionable it seems to care more about music and the theme of the magazine (drumming). They’ve stuck to a cool colour scheme and kept it nice and basic whilst throwing in some pictures linking with the writing on the side. This keeps all music tastes happy not just the ones being featured. This magazine doesn’t care about appealing to anyone but ‘drummers’. This is good because it doesn’t seem as though they are trying to be mainstream and appeal to everyone. They have also kept the information very basic so that you’re not spending hours on just the contents page.

ContentsThis is a well structured contents page. It has a clear message and it is doing nothing to deter from that. It has some pictures on the right hand side like a time line which relates to the life of John Lennon. The colour scheme is clear and basic and doesn’t distract the reader from the point of the magazine. This magazine hasn’t conformed to the new style of trying to be overly sophisticated, it doesn’t need to be like that because of the nature of the message. This magazine contents is beautifully simple which gives more respect to the late John Lennon. The font is also once again nice and simple, it is clear to see what you want from this page.

ContentsThis contents page is very well structured, unlike other contents this page has set out the writing along the right and down the bottom. They have done this by having one main image which is obviously the main feature in the magazine and then shaped the writing around it. This is a new style of contents, like the sophisticated versions in the fashion magazines, it’s very crisp and almost ‘blinged’ out. They have used quite a refreshing font which is nice for readers because it’s not the standard laborious rubbish that most magazines use. The contents page does stick to one of the codes and conventions by advertising ‘your free cd’ at the bottom.

Contents This is a very controversial contents page with

Madonna being the key figure in a very symbolic pose. This could have been taken the wrong way by many fans. However, Madonna pulls it of. The colour scheme sticks to what she is wearing and the writing is moulded around her. She is the main feature and everything else is pushed to the side. The audience know from the large “82” by Madonna’s head that, that is the page to skip to if they’re only interested in her.
