Contents evaluation

Two font colours give the page a simple look to it; it is not too distracting for the viewer so they can focus on the contents.

Using only two columns keeps the page looking simple which again isn’t too distracting. The columns the two categories of stories which makes it really easy for the viewer to find what they are looking for. The columns also help in showing page order, we know that the lowest number is at the top and then it gets higher as you go down.

Only one image has been used which fits in with the theme of “toys”.

Used 3 font colours to give the magazine contents page an edgy, fun feel, it also helps to separate each title.

Using thumbnails of some of the features keeps it exciting and catches the readers eye.

The contents page has not used any human models, this shows that the magazine is not a fashion or music genre magazine. The headlines show that is probably computer based.

The title “contents” is in a pretty font which seems feminine, this shows the readers that the magazine is aimed at females.

Another way we can tell it is aimed at females is the use of a female model. She is not doing a “sexy” pose and looks respectable therefore we can see that this is aimed at other young respectable women.

The contents page is split into two parts, the top half has very little text and is a large photo of a model. The bottom half is very simple and elegant, it contains neat text in a very orderly way. This sets the feel for the magazine, we can tell it is going to be an elegant.

The word “contents” is in a large bold font. This immediately stands out so the reader knows they are on the contents page and can navigate around the magazine easily.

The layout is simple and easy to read, the font is not too distracting, this helps the reader identify what it is they are looking for straight away.
