Following software tools, being used by leading consultants and electric utilities worldwide, are available in Planning (Power) Section:

1. Power System Simulator for Engineering (PSS/E) Used for performing load flow, short circuit , transient stability studies

& power quality studies. Used in most of the transmission planning studies.

2. Power System Computer Aided Design (PSCAD) Used for performing electromagnetic switching overvoltage & other

equipment design related studies. Other advanced level equipment design studies, such as, HVDC, FACTS
