Overview

Channel Partners enjoy a special relationship with Eaton as valued business partners. These standards explain and demonstrate how distributors, resellers, service partners, etc. may properly and effectively display their relationship with Eaton in their brand and marketing communications, advertising, and promotions.

The most important aspects of these standards are protecting and advancing the reputations of Eaton and our Channel Partners. By adhering to these standards when identifying your company as an Eaton Authorized Partner a strong and consistent visual message is maintained.

Your customers know, trust, and recognize your company. Your graphic identity is an important part of that recognition. Eaton has a strong visual identity that inspires confidence and is respected around the world. These standards explain how to incorporate our global position into your graphic identity to the benefit of your company and ours.

These standards show how Eaton Channel Partners may advertise their unique Eaton relationship in three marketing situations:

1 Channel Partner logo. On Eaton-produced marketing material, Channel Partners may add their logo.

2 The Eaton Authorized Mark. On Channel-Partner-produced marketing material featuring only Eaton products or services, Channel Partners may display the Eaton Authorized Mark.

3 The Eaton Logomark. On Channel-Partner-produced marketing material featuring both Eaton products and products from other manufacturers, the Eaton logomark is shown. 2

Elements

On Channel Partner-produced material marketing only Eaton products or services, display the Eaton Authorized Mark. Only use the Mark that describes your designated Eaton relationship. The Mark may not be redrawn or recreated from separate graphic or type elements. Always use the official artwork files.

Artwork is available in two-color (Eaton Blue and black on a white background) and one-color (black on a white background) versions.

The distinctive Eaton Authorized Mark has four elements.

Clear Area and Minimum Size

Always maintain a clear area around the Mark where no graphic elements or messages may be placed.

To determine the clear area call the height of the Eaton logo “X”:

• Allow at least 1X between the black border and any other graphic elements.

When printing against a color field, the color may abut the outside of the rule but may not print inside the rule.

Never size the Mark to less than 12mm (0.5") in width. To represent the Authorized relationship at smaller sizes, typeset the full Authorized message. Wherever possible set the message in a single line with a point size between 9 and 6 points. The preferred fonts for the Latin alphabet are: Univers 55 Roman, Arial Regular, or Helvetica Regular. For the Cyrillic alphabet use Univers 55 Cyrillic.

Languages

No matter where it appears, the Eaton Authorized Mark is recognizable. Eaton authorizes relationships in a growing number of categories, industries, and markets.

Marks for each Authorized Relationship title are offered in a range of languages. When typesetting the Mark message, ensure that the language matches the graphic Mark. Never transpose words or add other language within the message.

Backgrounds

The preferred usage of the Eaton Authorized Mark is against a white background. When necessary, the Mark may be displayed against a colored, photographic, textured, or patterned background. Whenever the Mark is displayed it appears as a white rectangle bordered with a black rule. This is true even on black or very dark backgrounds. Backgrounds may abut the rule but may never appear inside the rule.

Incorrect Usage

The Eaton Authorized Mark must not be redrawn or recreated from separate graphic or type elements. The correct reproduction of the Mark can be achieved only by using the official master artwork files.

• Never alter the color or content of the artwork. Do not change fonts, place colors in the background, or add drop shadows.

• Never distort or redraw the artwork. Never scale, skew, shear, rotate, or otherwise change the proportions of the Mark.

• Never place artwork within the black border or violate the clear area of the Mark. Cartoons or illustrations may not be used with the Mark.

“Eaton” is the sole identity of the business. Our legacy/acquired brand names have transitioned or are transitioning into “product line” status.

A product line is a category of products that is identified by a legacy/acquired name. The product lines are not brands, Eaton is the sole brand identity.

No stylized usage or graphical representations may be used for the product lines, only text that is completely separate from the Eaton Authorized Mark and logomark.

Legacy Logomarks

Use of legacy/acquired logomarks is no longer permitted. Please discontinue use of all such marks, including those listed here.

In addition, please remove any signage and dispose of any promotional merchandise with legacy marks. There is a conversion program in place for authorized distributors to aid in this transition. Please visit the Distributor Resource Center for more information.

This is not an exhaustive list of all the legacy marks that are no longer permitted. Discontinue use of all marks that are not approved.

Overview

Use the measurements at right when reproducing the Eaton logomark. The Eaton logomark must not be redrawn or recreated. The correct reproduction of the logomark can only be achieved by using the official master artwork files.

Clear Area

Maintain a Clear Area around the logomark; i.e., a zone where no other type, art, or design element may appear.

The Clear Area can be calculated by taking the cap height of the logomark and calling it “X.”

Size

The logomark may be enlarged to any size required.

The logomark may not be used smaller than 7pts. For smaller sizes set “EATON” in Univers 55, all caps.

Color

The swatch at right specifies Eaton Blue using four different color models. Use whichever is most appropriate for your needs. The logomark should appear in Eaton Blue on a white, or brushed or matte, silver-colored, metal background. When that is technically impossible, you may use the logomark in solid black on white, in white (reversed) on an Eaton Blue or other background.

Black & White Logomark Selection

When applying the Eaton logomark to a background, the gray scale value of the background must be determined in order to select the correct logomark, either black or white. Backgrounds include printed or applied color and imagery.

The Eaton logomark must always appear in white on backgrounds that fall above 40% on the gray scale, and must always appear in black on backgrounds that fall below 40% on the gray scale.

Compare a background’s relative color value to the gray scale chart at right when determining black or white use of the logomark. If necessary, refer to Pantone S325-6 as a benchmark for accurate 40%.

Literature produced by Eaton displays the Eaton Brand Signature. The Eaton Brand Signature is the visual expression of our brand positioning in the marketplace. It consists of two components—the Eaton logomark and the competency line “Powering Business Worldwide.”

For Channel Partner marketing, Eaton literature may be co-branded with the Channel Partner’s logo. The Channel Partner logo should visually appear to be about 80% of the size of the Brand Signature.

The Channel Partner logo appears on the right side of the Eaton material. It sits 2p2 from the right trim and base aligns with the competency line “Powering Business Worldwide” in the Eaton Brand Signature. Optionally, you may also place your logo on the outside back cover.

EGerodisc™ is a hydraulically-operated electronically controlled limited slip differential that provides variable torque up to full axle lock. It automatically identifies the optimal traction solution at any speed.

The spring pack pushes the side gears against the clutches, which are attached to the cage. Both side gears spin with the cage when both wheels are moving at the same speed, and the clutches aren’t needed.

The clutches fight this behavior, wanting both wheels to go the same speed. If one wheel wants to spin faster than the other, it must first overpower the clutch. The stiffness of the springs combined with the friction of the clutch determine how much torque it takes to overpower it.

• Size cap height of the product line to Y.
