SPACE 2020
ADAPTS TO THE CONTEXT
SPACE 2020, scheduled for 15-18 September, cannot go forward in its usual form due to the ongoing
global Covid-19 pandemic.
Because the virus is still circulating and is not yet under control, the health risks are too great for our
exhibitors and our participants. We still don't know exactly what restrictions will be in place for large
gatherings in September.
The decision to cancel SPACE 2020 announced on 5 May provoked many reactions. The cancellation is
going to leave a hole in the calendar of our participants. SPACE is a unique opportunity for all the actors
of Planet Livestock to come together, share ideas and do business. It is truly the key event that kicks
off the season.
Thanks to our adaptability and our organisational efficiency, SPACE has invented new ways to meet
the needs that have been expressed by our participants. As a result, we will be able to continue this
year to play our key role in supporting livestock farmers and the agricultural sector.
Innov’Space
We are pleased to announce that Innov'Space 2020 will go forward as planned, as requested by many
exhibitors. In order to enable companies to submit their entries on time, the deadline has been
extended. The new deadline for entries is 17 July.
The winners for 2020 will be announced and the awards will be presented to winning exhibitors on
Tuesday 15 September. The ceremony will be held at the Rennes Exhibition Centre.
The strong interest shown by exhibitors in Innov'Space demonstrates the importance and value of this
award. Innov'Space is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Since it began in 1995, 2,958 entries
have been submitted and 1,253 Innov'Space awards have been granted to 574 exhibitors. To celebrate
this anniversary, and to illustrate the extent to which the awards reflect the evolution of livestock
farming practices, the jury panel compiled a TOP 100 list of Innov'Space award winners. The
description of each of these products is online at www.space.fr and will also be available on the mobile
app.
4
Online B2B meetings
SPACE offers exhibitors and visitors the opportunity to stay in touch for their investment projects.
Through an interface on SPACE's mobile application, they can make appointments from 15 to 30
September to discuss their projects. Exhibitors who have paid the registration fees for SPACE 2020 will
be listed, along with a description of their business and products. French and international visitors will
be able to log in to this platform.
Online Conferences
The conferences organised at SPACE (nearly one hundred every year) are famous for their content,
diversity and role as a unique platform for sharing knowledge and expertise. This year's conferences
will be available online and live on www.space.fr and on the mobile app. Some forty free conferences
are already on the agenda, and more will be added in the coming weeks.
Genetics
Livestock presentations and competitions are traditionally featured throughout the four days of the
Expo. This year, SPACE will offer a digital showcase for farmers, and in particular for the breeds in the
spotlight this year: Normande and Blonde d'Aquitaine. Videos showcasing the farms of these two
breeds will also be available on the website.
Another all-new arrangement: the Genomic Elite auction will go forward in a fully digital format. The
auction will begin on Thursday 10 September and close on Wednesday 16 September at 4:00 pm.
International
Nearly 15,000 visitors and livestock professionals from more than 120 countries come to Rennes
every year in September. What they find at SPACE is absolutely unique and irreplaceable. You will find
video testimonials of several visitors on our website.
Through conferences in English (in particular on aquaculture), country presentations with our foreign
partners, B2B meetings, and more, SPACE will continue to serve businesses that rely on export and
international trade.
5
SPACE TV
SPACE TV will be broadcasting all the key events live from the Exhibition Centre on the dates of the
2020 Expo. Starting this summer, you will be able to watch video reports featuring livestock farms.
SPACE TV is co-produced with Web-Agri.
Podcast Space
SPACE is the first agricultural show to launch a radio station: "Podcast Space". The podcasts will
enable people to stay in touch and keep up to date with the latest news about the Expo and agriculture.
The Podcast Space will be available free of charge starting this summer on our website www.space.fr
and the major podcast platforms (Deezer, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify).
The Podcast Space will also be available to the media and will have a studio at the Exhibition Centre
during the SPACE dates.
Wednesday 16 September:
A focus on all the components of the food supply chain
The lockdown brought to light the importance of our food supply chain and its ability to continue to function to feed our citizens. SPACE is traditionally the time and place that marks the start of the agricultural season. SPACE is also the place where ideas and innovations that will shape the agricultural environment of tomorrow are unveiled. We therefore felt it was very important to organise a forum to highlight all the upstream and downstream components of the food supply chain, and in particular those who work in the shadows or who occupy peripheral jobs, but without whom the supply chain could not function, and without whom, above all, farmers would be unable to continue working (even in times of crisis). A forum and a round table will be held on Wednesday 16 September to honour them and express the gratitude of the profession for their dedication alongside the farmers.
6
Thursday 17 September:
Press trip to two farms
SPACE takes you on a tour of two farms that illustrate the ambitions and concerns of the profession
with regard to the challenges facing them: climate, transitions, relocation, societal expectations, the
appeal of farming jobs and financial issues.
A press invitation will be sent to you at the beginning of September with the time and place of the trip.
This event is subject to change, depending on the health regulations in force in September 2020.

INNOV’SPACE
Innov’Space 2020 award winners
Among the actions set up during the SPACE 2020 dates, the publication of
the list of the 2020 award winners will be a key event for everyone in the
agricultural sector.
Exhibitors have until July 17 to submit their entries.
The award-winners will be announced on Tuesday 15 September at a
ceremony at the Rennes Exhibition Centre.
25th anniversary of Innov'Space
Since 1995, the Innov'Space label has been a unique opportunity for
businesses in the livestock sector to showcase and promote their
innovations. It is the gold standard in terms of innovation.
This year the label celebrates its 25th anniversary! To mark the occasion,
the Innov'Space panel will present a retrospective of the award-winning
products, equipment and services since 1995.
Key figures for the Innov'Space label
• 2,958 entries submitted
• 1,253 Innov'Space awards bestowed
• 574 award-winning exhibitors
• 5 categories (agro-machinery, animal feed, poultry, cattle, pigs)
• 78% of exhibitors say that SPACE is the ideal place to showcase their innovations.
• 83% of visitors discover techniques, products or equipment at SPACE that they did not know about
before their visit to the Expo.
8
The TOP 100 most outstanding innovations
To celebrate these 25 years of innovation, we retrace the evolution of livestock farming and
demonstrate that the livestock sector is constantly evolving to remain at the forefront of the latest
trends.
The members of the Innov'Space panel selected the most outstanding innovations for each of the
sectors. A total of 100 innovations were selected.
The panel selected the products, equipment and services that they believed were instrumental in
changing farming practices, precursors in their field, or so commercially successful that they are now
widely used on farms.
This top 100 list is available online on space.fr and will also be available on the mobile app.
Special events on this theme will be offered all summer long on our website and our social media,
including exhibitor testimonials, product upgrades, etc.

THE MOBILE APPLICATION
The SPACE 2020 mobile app will be a valuable tool enabling Expo exhibitors and visitors to stay in
touch. The 2020 version of the mobile app will include new services to help them gain visibility and
find the information they need.
The SPACE 2020 mobile app will provide all the key information, including the list of exhibitors
registered at the Expo, the list of Innov'Space 2020 winners, the program of virtual conferences, the
Podcast Space and SPACE TV by Web-Agri videos. It can also be used to arrange and hold B2B meetings,
a first!
The new services available via the app
Exhibitors and visitors are in constant contact when SPACE is held in person. As this is not possible this
year due to the Covid-19 epidemic, we felt it was important to develop new services to enable
exhibitors to benefit from visibility in our French and international communities and to make virtual
discussions possible between the participants of the Show.
Exhibitors can provide additional details in their company profile by adding their visual identity and
showcasing 3 products, equipment items or services that visitors could have seen at their stand in
September. This enriched content will make it easier for visitors to identify them.
B2B appointments will be possible via our mobile application! This year, all users will be able to
schedule appointments directly via the mobile app after creating an account. If both participants
accept, they will be able to videoconference or chat via the mobile app.
Mobile application available in early August
The SPACE 2020 mobile application will be available free of charge in early August on Google Play and
the App Store.
After downloading the app, users will be able to create an account and obtain useful information about
the 2020 Expo. Appointments can be scheduled starting in early September and can take place from
15 to 30 September.
15
ONLINE CONFERENCES SPACE is a unique opportunity for the agricultural profession to discuss and learn about important issues. To continue to keep our French and international communities informed, we are setting up a virtual conference program. To date, we have more than 40 online and live conferences on a variety of important topics (animal nutrition, livestock farming practices, international issues, the environment, organic farming, etc.). This program reflects SPACE's unique ability to offer content for all farmers and for all livestock sectors. The conference program will be expanded in the coming weeks on our website. www.space.fr.

MESSAGES FROM OUR INTERNATIONAL
VISITORS
Every year, SPACE welcomes nearly 15,000 international visitors from 122 countries. The diverse
backgrounds and origins of our participants are one of the strengths of our Expo. SPACE is an
important event for the international professionals of the sector, and we received many messages
from abroad when we announced that SPACE would be cancelled. Everyone agrees that it was a wise
decision given the global health situation.
Messages from international visitors
SPACE benefits from a loyal international community that has been coming to SPACE regularly for many
years. Because they have become our Ambassadors over the years, we wanted to share their
messages.
"Very disappointed that SPACE has been cancelled. It has become a tradition and also a place to
discover new things."
Sofiene Hachemaoui, veterinarian in Algeria (first came to SPACE in 2014)
"SPACE is an indicator and a compass for global livestock production."
Iurii Goncharenko, journalist in Ukraine
"As a Prim'Holstein breeder, I think Brittany is the French region that is home to some of the largest
herds and farms in Europe. Western France is somewhat similar to my country, Ireland."
Bobbie Sirewise, Ireland (first came to SPACE in 1991)
"Brittany is a model of inspiration and the gold standard to be followed."
Larbi Zinelabidine, ADM – Morocco (first came to SPACE in 2005)
"SPACE offers market opportunities outside of France and showcases the evolution of the
agricultural sector in a country like France."
David Coll, Upb Genetic World - Spain (first came to SPACE in 2009)

"Brittany is where new technologies in the sector always emerge in France."
Angel Escartin, Director of Humeco - Spain (first came to SPACE in 2004)
"SPACE is a combination of tradition and innovation, in a friendly atmosphere. Everything is clear
and well-coordinated."
Lecia Kryukova, journalist at Univest Media - Ukraine (comes to SPACE every year)
"The technical quality of the companies present at SPACE, in terms of feed, is superior to the
companies present at other trade fairs."
Hossein Keyhani, Iran Feed Union
"The Expo has helped our economic development because that is where we found the products that
Iran is interested in."
Farhad Jamshidian, Darman Gostar Farzanegan Co. - Iran
Messages from Senegal
"For us, SPACE is a special Expo, with the International Club which is
unique. It is an important Expo for us where we can consolidate relations
with French and foreign partners because SPACE attracts the entire
world."
Théophile Sarr, Director of Afitex - Senegal (first came to SPACE in 2006)
"SPACE is an Expo that offered me an excellent opportunity for
networking. It is where I met most of the partners I work with."
Saliou Ndione, Director of Centralvet - Senegal (first came to SPACE in 2012)

"From small family businesses like ours, Breton farmers have managed to
build multinationals. Africans could be inspired by this method, but by
adapting the Breton model to our situation, without duplicating it. This
would save time and be productive right away."
Malick Gueye, SPACE representative in West Africa (first came to SPACE in
2010)
You can find the videos of the messages in the press tab of the space.fr website.
To stay in touch with our global community and to enable our exhibitors to find new export
opportunities, we have decided to provide a number of services and events dedicated to international
issues:
B2B meetings between exhibitors and international visitors: Video meetings can be scheduled at the beginning of September via SPACE's mobile application.
Videoconferences on international topics: presentation of markets and regulatory aspects (focus on Ukraine, Latin America, Canada), webinars for international visitors (in pig production, aquaculture, animal feed).
Videos of farm tours: each day, a farm tour will be broadcast. These videos will be similar to the traditional farm tours (farms of the breeds in the spotlight at SPACE 2020) organised during SPACE and which are much appreciated by international visitors.

SPACE TV BY WEB-AGRI Even if SPACE cannot take place in its usual form this year, we want to continue to reach out to people
in the livestock sector, to serve our community and provide them with the information they are
looking for. SPACE TV by Web-Agri will be back this summer and will produce a series of video reports!
Before, during and after SPACE 2020, Web-Agri teams will be interviewing farmers, exhibitors and
professional agricultural organizations to broadcast the 2020 trends!
The SPACE TV by Web-Agri studio will be back at the Rennes Exhibition Centre on the dates of SPACE
2020 (15 to 18 September). From the studio, we will broadcast special Expo events live on our website
and our social media (Innov'Space 2020 awards, conferences) and also conduct interviews with experts
on topics related to livestock farming.
