ApproachCBI is grounded on the following two central principles:1. Peoples learn second language more

2. CBI better reflects learners needs for learning a second language.

This principles reflects the fact that many content based programs serve to access the content learning and teaching.

♠ Objective → In CBI, language learning is typically considered incidental to the learning of content.

For example: integrating reading and writing skills.

♠ Learner roles → One goal of CBI is for learners to become autonomous so that they come to understand their own learning process.

♠ The role of teachers → Teachers must be knowledgeable in the subject matter and able to elicit that knowledge from their students.

♠ The roles of materials → The materials that facilitate language learning with the subject matter of the content course.

For example: newspaper and radio.

conclusion

In a content based approach, the activities of the language class are specific to the subject being taught, and to stimulate students to think and learn through the target language. For example, it employs authentic reading materials which require students not only to understand information but to interpret and evaluate it as well.
