Cementa15

Welcome to Cementa15. We are very happy that you could join us on the continued journey and hope you enjoy the festival as much as we do. This year we offer an expanded program with over 60 artists exhibiting work across more than 20 venues. Artists engage with not only Kandos, but the regional context in which we are situated. We are also very proud of the strong showing of Aboriginal artists we have for this festival. Thank you for joining us on this unreasonable adventure.

Programs and more information available at Kandos Projects, Angus Avenue.

Evening events

Thursday April 9Festival Opening 6.30–7 pm Railway Green

Acknowledgment of Country: Aleshia Lonsdale: Central West Aboriginal Arts Development OfficerOpening: Richard Perram OAM, Bathurst Regional Art GalleryJess Olivieri with the Glen Alice Public School: Parade. A procession in the style of Futurist/Bauhaus/Suprematism—all movements that were founded in the same timeframe that Kandos was coming into being. Industrial concrete buildings of the Cement Works of Kandos’ past have been reconfigured by the Glen Alice Public School children as they march to a cacophony of cymbals, in an ode to cement.

Opening Night Party 8–11.30 pm Railway HotelHoney: A Mudgee-based trio: Katie Gilbert (lead vocals/percussion), Elizabeth Walton (piano/vocals/percussion) and Richard Lawson (guitar/vocals/percussion).Renny Kodgers & The Twilight Girls: A screening of the filmic mini-masterpiece 50 Ways to Kill Renny Kodgers sees Sydney-based duo The Twilight Girls encounter their nemesis Renny Kodgers in a series of Z-movie schlock-horror homages that lampoon popular culture and take a rather brutal yet ridiculous swing at patriarchy. RIP Renny Kodgers. R-rated.HHAARRPP with KING COLOSSUS: Luke Jaaniste and Seamus Kirkpatrick on hypnotic electronica and wild, improvised electric guitar.

Friday April 10Projection 7.30–7.50 pm St Laurence Church

Ken Simpson: Kandos: Selected Memory. Responding to the landscape around Kandos and the history of the town, one motif that inspired me was the aerial cableway that carried limestone for many kilometres. This is represented in my artwork along with the building of the huge limestone kiln transported from Germany. I wanted to explore those vanished elements once a part of the fabric of the town and now lost in time.

Friday April 10 (continued)Cabaret & Spoken Word 8–11.30 pm Railway Hotel

Kandos-born siblings The Williamsons: singer songwriter Matt (vocals/guitar) accompanied by his sister Miriam (vocals/melodica) perform songs from Matt’s upcoming album Conviction. Matt’s songs evoke the landscape of the high plains of the Central West and the people who populate them. The family has a long history of song dating back to the goldfields of Hill End. They will be accompanied by Mbaye (percussion) and Paul Beckmann (bass).Bruce Green: We Love Katamari is a live performance by Bruce Green utilising a custom-made interface for a video game console. The performance involves the use of vocal patterns and sustained notes to manipulate the game ‘We Love Katamari’, turning the singular experience of gaming into an anachronistic meditation on the collaborative experience.Virginia Barratt: Cryptocrystalline: technomancy (divination) Spoken word/textual choreography. An augmented spoken word performance (polyvocal) upreaping texts that traverse eons, tones, modes + platforms, channeling the oracular properties of provisional alien(ated) post-capital entities; ‘never hex an alien’.Open Mike: An opportunity to perform poetry and text.

Film Night 8 pm–12 midnight Down the Track Café Kandos Railway Station

Lucas Ihlein and Louise Curham (Teaching and Learning Cinema): performance of Anthony McCalls 1973 ‘Line describing a Cone’. A one-off expanded cinema event. This is the first and most famous of McCall’s ‘solid light films’ from the 1970s. A cone of light is illuminated and thus made ‘solid’ by particles of smoke, haze or mist. Participants can explore this beautiful and fragile sculptural form with their bodies. 30 minutes, 16 mm film.Sean O’Keeffe: Cognitive Dissonance. Fan films of iconic 1980 cult movie, ‘The Chain Reaction,’ will be shown on the ‘giant screen’ of cinema. Exploring visual ideas about Australian cinema and the changing social structure of Kandos, the project involved collaboration with different community groups including local teenagers and members of the local dramatic society, The Twin Town Players. Boris Hunt (Mad Dog Boy), the composer of the soundtrack, will be performing the soundtrack to the film live at the event screening.John A. Douglas: Cementa trailers. The full series of John A. Douglas’s Cementa trailers will be shown on the cinema screen.Peter Weir: The Cars That Ate Paris. Cult classic, filmed in nearby Sofala.

Workshops

Bookings recommended: call Ginny M 0427 063 686 or email [email protected].

Thursday April 9Karen Golland: The nature of things 11 am–2 pm Railway Green Cementa Gazebo

Drawing on the rich history of Australian handicraft and the transformative power that comes from turning one thing into another, this workshop will introduce young people to this process and facilitate collaborative experimentation using discarded or everyday materials as a medium through which we can share our stories. Children will be invited to create their own pom poms, which will then be installed at Railway Green. (Ages: 8 to 14. Children under 8 may participate if accompanied by an adult.)

Friday April 10Michael Petchkovsky: Hack to the Future II 11 am–2 pm Railway Green Cementa Gazebo

Exploring ways that we can disrupt the regular functions of the obsolete consumer electronics that litter our houses and spill on to the kerbside for clean-up and landfill. Cracking open doorbells, buzzers and musical toys we will study and bend their circuits to extract bleeps and glitchy noise products and learn about DIY. Hooking things up back-to-front and inside-out we will tap into the secret signals that make electronics tick and mix our sounds together in a collaborative, amplified cacophony! Participants will use screwdrivers, conductive glue and the trusty hot-glue gun to transform electronic bits and pieces into sonic sculptures to perform with and to take home at the end of the session. (Ages: 8 to 15.)

Floating works

Distributed throughout the festivalIan Milliss: The Kandos Red Book [BLOG]

http://kandosredbook.comStarting with a recent essay about art and sustainability I will spend the Cementa week assembling a range of research material, travelogue, images, links and personal thoughts on a blog and facebook. I will focus on the problematic past and future of central west towns from Lithgow to Kandos, Portland to Glen Davis.

Alex Wisser: The Support [PERFORMANCE]

Traditionally the support for a work of art is a plinth or a picture frame. Literally, it is what supports the object, but it also presents the work of art to the viewer. It ‘frames’ how it is viewed and understood. What happens if the support is a human being?

Leahlani Johnson: The configuration of yesterday [POSTCARDS]

Time becomes displaced from its linear formation as moving footage of Kandos becomes broken down into single frame portions. The film is transformed, dispersed into 1000 unique stills that take on postcard form and can be played back through their re-collection from various shop counters across town. Postcards FREE.

Fiona MacDonald: Cenit and Nadir, 2015 [POSTERS]

The protagonist, a returning soldier hero, comes back to a hometown in painful transition and to its cement factory being reorganised for the massive new national effort. Fedor Gladkov’s novel Tsement (1925) provides a reference point for thinking about 21st century Kandos.

Mark Brown & David Standfield: Utility 2015 [SOUND INSTALLATION]

A utility vehicle retro-fitted with a tripod mounted ‘METAHORN’, rotary audio horn, an array of bespoke gallon drum bass speakers, resonators and lighting elements. This mobile sound rig will play a mix of sound recordings made in the industrial heartland of Kandos and spoken word recordings of a former Cement Works engineer. This retro-fitted Ute references the phenomenon of DIY utility vehicle-mounted heavy weapons systems used by militia and insurgents in the many theatres of civil war in the age of eternal global conflict and the industrial archaeology of cement production in Kandos.

Pine forest Campbell St, behind the Scout Hall (Map C15)

Michael Petchkovsky: Traipse [INSTALLATION]. The early 1900s saw a period of transition in popular entertainment. Technologies of image projection and sound reproduction were incorporated with live performance and hitched a ride on established vaudeville circuits from inner city Sydney to the theatres, community halls and circus tents of regional NSW. Traipse translocates the wanderings and writings of Marrickville vaudeville artist Nessie Law to a speculative 21st-century Kandos encampment.

Manager’s tennis court corner Campbell & McDonald (Map C11)

Alan Schacher: Behemoth [PERFORMANCE]. I’m searching for an Eliotesque figure wandering Kandos. Chip-wrapped, coat-stuffed, shredded, balled and plastered. Newsprint in objects, clothing, walls and floors. A relic itinerant inhabitant with many hiding places in the fabric of this town. An Emperor of reveries, a forgotten archive, trailing an elegant debris of irrelevant articles.

Aleshia Lonsdale: Disambiguation [INSTALLATION] explores the connection between people and the land from time immemorial to the present. It reflects upon our collective memory and connections to country through a traditional drawing laid out in the sand. A series of concentric circles interconnects spirit, culture, society, economy and the environment.

Kandos Museum—exterior Buchanan St, top of Jaques (Map D8)

Djon Mundine: Gibir – Yinaa A Man – A Woman [MURAL]. Based on original photographs, descendants of Jimmy Lambert (1830–1900) and Peggy Lambert (1830–1884) will ‘paint’ a thumbprint image on an exterior wall of the Kandos Museum. It is an opportunity to leave a permanent image or mark of the Aboriginal presence in the area in the explicit, identified way of named personalities.

Karla Dickens: The Whole Black Hole [INSTALLATION] The Black Hole in the distance is a scar. The gaping entrance to an old coal mine. A pimp somewhere has heavy pockets. The Poker Machine will tempt to sing you. One armed bandits promise hard cold cash. Red, Black, Yellow Dollars. Black tears. The scars left behind by the money makers.

Mark Booth: Cold steel (22.300–90°) [SCULPTURE]. Scale (proportion in relation to perception) is important in the development of the sculpture. Recognition of its mass is influenced by the volume that surrounds it. This work is grey monochrome, creating an illusion of materiality—it appears to be constructed from a base material other than plastic.

Kandos Museum—interior Buchanan St, top of Jaques (Map D8)

Entry to Kandos Museum: $5/person or $10/family (multiple entry).

Dani Marti: Stitch ‘n Bitch [VIDEO]. Documentation of a women’s sewing circle, filmed over two months with some members of the local ‘Stitch ‘n Bitch’—Wollombi, NSW.

Nicole Barakat: Meditation (Decolonisation) [PERFORMANCE INSTALLATION]. An intuitive response to two significant things I found on my first visit to Kandos:

1. a wealth of embroidered traced linen doilies in the op shop 2. a blunt description of the 1824 brutal massacre of

Wiradjuri people in the Capertee Valley.

Juilee Pryor: A Meditation on the Redundancy of Childhood [PERFORMANCE INSTALLATION]. One hundred ghostly white toys silently reminding us of our own impending redundancy and the fickle nature of time and desire … all these chimeras of innocence abandoned on the streets have been swept up and refashioned into a meditation on the temporary nature of childhood and life itself.

melanie e. khava: ‘16boardsx2’ is an engagement ‘in.with’ [INSTALLATION]. This collaboration with Kandos High School students creates a safe ground from which the artist could open her otherwise insular and private practice to the contribution of others. In the same gesture, the work grants the students an experience of their contribution by reflecting it through the reductive processes of its integration into the whole work.

25

Kandos Community Centre Hall 40 Angus Avenue (Map F10)

Wade Marynowsky: The Acconci Robot [INSTALLATION] is an interactive robot that follows you unawares. Appearing as a shipping crate of minimal design, the robot is mute and motionless as a viewer approaches. But when the audience member turns away, and starts to leave, the robot begins to follow. Inspired by Acconci’s 1969 performance work, Follow.

Elizabeth Day: Myco Logic [INSTALLATION] is a community-based mushroom-making collective which embraces fungi’s rhizomatic networks of intercommunicating mycelia as representative of social cohesion. Fungi are also natural detoxifiers of the environment. This follows Liz Day’s series employing imprinted grass roots to comment on (legal and institutional) colonial and migrant impositions on the Australian landscape.

Christine McMillan: Firewood. One tonne. [INSTALLATION]. I reached down to pick up a piece of firewood. The rough split surface almost hid the grain. I’ll save that one, make something. How many tonnes have I burnt to drive away the chill? The sun sets, the wind drops and a winter haze settles over the town.

The morning session of Tour 1 concludes with a performance in the Kandos Community Centre Hall by Karen Therese + Province. Details p7.

Bill Moseley: From timeclocks’ luminous shadow [PHOTOGRAPHY]. Bill Moseley utilises the medium of glass plate collodion photography, an antiquarian process that survives mostly as an artefact to vanished times, as in the Holtermann collection of 1870s glass plates in Moseley’s home village of Hill End. The nuances of this inexact process seemingly suspend time in Moseley’s exploration of a disappearing working class world.

The Barn behind 70 Fleming Street (Map J15)

Kurt Sorensen: I Break Horses [PHOTOGRAPHS] roused by the story of Jessie Hickman.‘I’d be riding horses if they let me. Sleep outside at night and not take fright. I would ride the range and never worry. I would disappear into the night.’

28

Paddock shoulder 74 Fleming Street (Map J16)

Karen Golland: The Nature of Things [INSTALLATION]. Things come and go; it is in their nature. As Karen Golland’s partner was dying, she began binding threads to make pom-poms. Grief wound its way into new acts of creation; the process allowing those close to share their own loss. This accumulation became ‘the nature of things’.

Margot’s paddock 76 Fleming Street (Map J16)

Georgina Pollard: Labour a song, Idleness a tune (adapted from Emily Dickinson) [INSTALLATION]. A chandelier of toffee and a set of painted beehives sets a stage for the seduction of bees. Seduction as an apology, an offering and a human display for communing with bees.

Alexander Jackson-Wyatt & Paulina Semkowicz: Standard Boxing Tent No. 1 [INSTALLATION]. Kandos has not seen a boxing tent since 1971. From then, that empty field you passed every day has stood there waiting for nothing to happen. Till finally the boxing troupe comes to town. From the nervous crowd, your hand goes up. You are pulled into the ring and what comes next is not the end but only the beginning.

29

The Convent 78 Fleming St, enter off Dabee Rd (Map J17)

Beata Geyer & James Culkin: Geometries: Kandos [INSTALLATION] is a site-responsive sculptural and painterly intervention on the site of the former Convent in Kandos. The temporal disjunction between the modular construction of monochromatic planes and multidimensional forms, on the one hand, and the architecture and landscape, on the other, creates an exciting and speculative juxtaposition.

This project is supported by Arts NSW’s NSW Artists’ Grant Scheme, a devolved funding program administered by the National Association of the Visual Arts on behalf of the NSW Government.

Dan Kojta: Infinityscope [INSTALLATION]. This telescope to the future is installed in the Convent garden in the grotto. Peering into the infinityscope’s deep velvety depths, viewers are encouraged to reflect on their spiritual state; an interior mirror returns their immediate past back to them as a future event.

Kim V. Goldsmith: Indicatus, 2014 [INSTALLATION]. Goldsmith plays with different elements of our relationship with birds, and their place in our environment, using technology to do so. Taking often sentimental notions of birds as identifiable decorative symbols of nature, they are deconstructed using sound, the burning of a series of charcoal drawings created specifically for the purpose, and smell.

30

Dangar Street Church Hall enter off Dabee Road (Map I18)

Jenny Brown: Bayeux capitalism, hedging and speculation [VIDEO INSTALLATION]. This two-part work explores economics, psychology and advertising from dominant and outsider realms. An 8.5-metre tapestry presents a public relations history. Franklin F. Scarf’s garden shed displays some of his 30,000 eye contact smiles, his video performance blowing a bubble-in-a-bubble-in-a-bubble and some other ideas from exiting through the permablitz shop.

Alana Hunt: To greener pastures [VIDEO & PHOTO INSTALLATION] looks closely at the holes in the fences around the sheep farms of Kandos in central west NSW. The animals that made these holes were trying to get to greener pastures. This work is about the basic desires and needs of these animals as much as it is about the basic desires and needs of people. From the enclosures of Britain that brought an end to the commons, to the colonial demarcations over land that split up the countries of Aboriginal Australia, to the violence of national borders and the imagined identities they shape. To greener pastures consists of a series of 50 photos and a video, and, post-Cementa15, may grow into various forms of printed matter.

Page 32: Contemporary Arts Festival Kandos 9 to 12 April 2015robynbacken.com/text/Cementa15Program.pdf · mini-masterpiece 50 Ways to Kill Renny Kodgers sees Sydney- ... the project involved

31

Dabee Road Nursery corner Dabee Road & Angus Ave (Map F17)

Genevieve Carroll: We Just Want to Throw Flowers At The World [INSTALLATION]. Each of my artworks is a chapter in an autobiographical diary entitled The Wattle Room. This artwork is about the trauma of the world with its relentless conflicts as observed on the news every night. I have used the word ‘we’ instead of ‘I’ to contest the narcissistic ideology the world resides in.

Fiona Davies: Blood on Silk price taker, price maker [INSTALLATION]. The manner in which the market works for a person producing and selling their own blood, blood products or body organs is very similar to that for agricultural production. In this context price takers are those whose market activities have limited effect on the market price they receive.

Coffee and barbecue available at Dabee Road Nursery 10 am–5 pm every day during the festival.

Page 33: Contemporary Arts Festival Kandos 9 to 12 April 2015robynbacken.com/text/Cementa15Program.pdf · mini-masterpiece 50 Ways to Kill Renny Kodgers sees Sydney- ... the project involved

32

79 Angus Avenue AdHoc Furniture Showroom (Map F13)

Yvette Hamilton: Viewfinder [INSTALLATION] is an interactive work that oscillates between objective mirror, to subjective likeness. The work consists of a mirrored aperture that refuses the passive function of reflection when triggered by the audience. Instead, it replaces the ‘portrait’ of the viewer with a likeness of Kandos. In doing so, the work seeks to elaborate the transient presence of the viewer in place and explore the wider enmeshed concepts of portraiture, place and being-in-the-world.

The Australian Artists’ Grant is a NAVA initiative, made possible through the generous sponsorship of Mrs Janet Holmes à Court and the support of the Visual Arts Board, Australia Council for the Arts.

77 Angus Avenue Lyn Symes’ Shop (Map F13)

Blak Douglas: CHILDSPLAY [INSTALLATION]. From memory, most parents shall instruct their offspring on the Hop Scotch rules. I hope these versions act as a prompting for parents to elaborate on social justice, answering honestly. Recently, Kandos celebrated its 100th. The real history v. the hidden HIS-story? From the onset, exactly how was Kandos established?

John Conomos: Radio Neon [INSTALLATION] signifies how Walter Benjamin, between 1927 and 1933, wrote and produced close to 80 works for the new medium of radio. Theodor Adorno once described the mesmerising and explosive quality of Benjamin’s writings as ‘radioactive.’ This work continues my abiding interest in radiophonic art, including cinema. Some years back in Paris, at the Jewish Museum, amidst an unforgettable exhibition of Benjamin’s almost microscopic manuscripts, was a rare video screening of Ernst Bloch, Gersholm Scholem, and George Steiner discussing Benjamin’s works and legacy.

This work was made possible by the generous support of d’Lux Media Arts.

Old Pharmacy 45 Angus Ave (Map F10)

Eugenia Raskopoulos: Turning time [VIDEO] is a two-channel video work installed in the shop windows of the old pharmacy. The ancient Greeks have two words to describe time: chronos (sequential time) and kairos (the right moment). With this in mind I videoed the two places in Kandos that are opened for twenty-four hours—the laundromat and the town clock.

35

Peep’ole Space 39 Angus Ave (Map F9)

Mr & Mrs Brown: The Garden of Private Thinking [PEEPHOLE INSTALLATION]. The garden attempts to remove us, for a moment, from the mundane into a restricted temporal encounter. The routine of our daily life is transmogrified by video imagery evocative of essential circadian rhythms. Muslin swaddled forms are constructed from reclaimed fencing wire and scrap auto parts sourced from Cauchi’s Auto Repair Service.

St Laurence Church corner Angus Ave & Jaques St (Map F8)

Jason Wing: In Syrinx [SOUNDSCAPE]. Native bird calls and human conversations are interwoven and manipulated to create an immersive symphony. Exploring the intangible connection many Indigenous Australians feel toward Country, Syrinx reminds us that cultural expression is an immutable and adaptable force.

36

Georgie’s garage Jaques St (next to CWA, Map G8)

Nola Farman: The Ministry for the Future of Art [INSTALLATION]. With input from a group of artists, this installation is curated by its Chief Minister, Dr Permangelo E Regularis, who takes his commission very seriously, has risen to the occasion and, like yeast in jelly, raises questions for which he provides few, if any answers.

CWA carport and side room Jaques St (Map G8)

Heidi Lefebvre: Shirt off my back [INSTALLATION] is an exploration of the town where Lefebvre grew up and has returned to live. Significant sites and objects from her childhood will be re-explored, also relationships with people who have been absent from her life for 25 years. The outcome will be a series of drawings and objects representative of the social and historical importance of generosity and the acknowledgement of shared experiences.

They remember me. They remember everyone and everything. This is our town.

Page 38: Contemporary Arts Festival Kandos 9 to 12 April 2015robynbacken.com/text/Cementa15Program.pdf · mini-masterpiece 50 Ways to Kill Renny Kodgers sees Sydney- ... the project involved

37

Kandos Projects 18 Angus Ave (Map F7)

Robyn Backen: Incidental Mur-murings [INSTALLATION] will be located in a pair of shop windows on Angus Avenue and in a car on the opposite side of the street. The work will play with the site as a place of connection, transmission, collection and incidental conversations relating specifically to the street.

Starrs & Cmielewski: Elemental Square [VIDEO] is a two-channel video work installed in Kandos Projects shopfront window. A land art sculpture representing the five elements was constructed from natural material at Swampy, a local site. Using a drone launched from Stockyard Point the camera sweeps down the escarpment to capture the immolation of the sculpture.

The Salon: [EXHIBITION]. Between 1748 and 1890 the Salon de Paris was the greatest annual or biannual art event in the Western world. In the tradition of ‘The Salon’ local painters have been invited to hang their work.

Daniel Mudie Cunningham: Monkey Bars [VIDEO]. Set in a brutalist park in Kandos, and conceived as the ‘lost B-side’ of the artist’s video Dog Eat Dog (2013), Monkey Bars mixes music puns and unlikely rock songs with hungry, sexed-up ‘plushies’ looking for love in all the wrong places. Tropes of popular culture and music video conventions are queered.

Josh Harle: Kandos Autonomous Digital Territories [INSTALLATION & HEADQUARTERS OF FREE FESTIVAL WIFI NETWORK]. During Cementa15, a town-wide open WiFi network representing the Kandos Autonomous Digital Territories will be unilaterally established. Visitors and locals with WiFi-enabled mobile devices or computers can view the Kandos Digital Embassy website, which will provide consular services and live-stream data and video feeds from two overlooking base-stations.

This work was made possible by the generous support of the NAVA Australian Artist’s Grant and d’Lux Media Arts.

Kandos Projects (continued)Bruce Green: Bruce Green Presents ‘A World Of Endless Entertainment’ is a collection of participatory artworks and workshops scheduled throughout Cementa. Based at a workshop space within Kandos Projects, Bruce Green seek to involve audiences in the art-making process through handmade electronics, zines, photography, cosplay and performance. Visit brucegreen.org for more information.

NRMA Showroom 11 Angus Ave (Map F6)

Sarah Goffman: New Blue and White 2015 [PAINTING]. The car, a ubiquitous obsession. Petrol prices descend in line with the Australian Government’s investment in new roads … but who doesn’t love a drive to the bush or the beach, the freedom of wheels, the roar of an engine on an open road? My work for Kandos celebrates the automobile and is a pastiche of the personalised car of my dreams.

11 am–4 pm Friday April 10 & Saturday April 11:Yiorgos Zafiriou: Un-Performance [PERFORMANCE]. Yiorgos undertakes this new work which engages with audience perceptions of performance. Exploring ideas of non-performance and un-performing, it is bound to be a work full of surprises.

Down the Track Café Kandos Railway Station (Map E4)

Fleur MacDonald: Y G R P [INSTALLATION]. Yellow, Green, Red and Purple are the colours of the signaling lights predominately used by the Railway in Kandos. These colours form the basis of a series of paintings and installations inside the café and along the platform fence.

Sean O’Keeffe: Cognitive Dissonance [VIDEO]. This video work references iconic 1980 cult film, The Chain Reaction, and uses fan films to explore visual ideas about Australian cinema and the changing social structure of Kandos. The project involved collaboration with different community groups including local teenagers and members of the local dramatic society, The Twin Town Players.

George Shaw: Make Yourself at Home [BANNER] is a billboard-sized 2 x 3 metre vinyl banner at the entrance to Kandos that employs the image of a popular style of mid-century domestic carpet to evoke ideas about memory, place and family, and create a space to indulge in a moment of unashamed nostalgia.

Men’s shed next to Kandos Railway Station (Map E4)

Tina Havelock Stevens: WHITE DRUMMER LADY BUSHRANGER [VIDEO INSTALLATION/PERFORMANCE]. White Drummer happily channels the punk spirit of Jessie Hickman, the famous local ‘Lady Bushranger’ with a visit to her cave hide-out, a horse-ride and beat-ful summonsing.
