The Small Tug (ST) is capable of pushing cargo barges or can assist larger tugs with the movement of ships and floating cranes.
The 174’ Landing Craft, Utility (LCU) provides intra-theater movement of
combat vehicles and sustainment cargo.
The 128’ Large Tug (LT) is used for
ocean and coastal towing operations.

T he 3d Transportation Brigade
(Expeditionary) provides mission
command of a unique capability in the
Department of Defense. We are
looking for Soldiers who are willing to support
missions up and down the east coast of the
United States, in the Caribbean or with units
stationed on the West Coast of the U.S. Currently
there are positions for Warrant Officers, NCOs
and Enlisted Soldiers that are interested in
becoming Warrant Officers.
Your time in the TB (X) will be fast-paced,
exciting, and rewarding. You will be working with
top-notch professionals in the U.S. Army’s
watercraft community. Within Army watercraft, we
deliver war-fighting supplies, combat vehicles and
sustainment cargo to a wide variety of ports. Our
Soldier– Mariners operate these missions!

Sail Army
The 314’ Logistics Support Vessel (LSV)
can transport cargo from ship to shore.
The LTs 5100 Horse Power provides the Tug
with 54.6 long tons of Bollard pull.
Because of the LCUs shallow draft, the crew can
offload its cargo onto an unimproved beach.
United States Army Reserve Soldiers are
trained to load cargo onto a LCU in port.
