REFERAT E-LEARNING

Digitale Medien haben sich durch verschiedene Initiativen als ein selbstverständlicher Bestandteil im Hochschulalltag etabliert, wie z. B. bei der Literaturbeschaffung, bei der Dokumentenbearbeitung und -distribution und bei der Präsentation und Kommunikation im weitesten Sinne: als Medien des Lehrens und des Lernens. Die Stabsstelle Studium und Internationales versteht sich sowohl als Entwicklerin neuer wissenschaftlicher mediendidaktischer Konzep te als auch als Dienstleisterin für die Lehrenden und Studierenden der Folkwang Universität der Künste. Mit einem umfangreichen Service-angebot - dies umfasst sowohl die technische Infrastruktur als auch den Bereich Beratung und Schulungen - unterstützen und koordi-nieren wir den Einsatz von E-Learning in der Lehre. UNIT E-LEARNING

Through different initiatives New Media is nowadays esta-

blished in the everyday university-life, for example through

purchasing literature, developing and distributing documents,

as well as within presentations and communication and in the

broadest sense: as New Media of teaching and learning

On the one hand the Department Studies and International

Affairs develops scientifi c media-didactical concepts; on the

other hand it can be seen as a service provider for teachers

and students at Folkwang University of the Arts. Together with

an extensive range of services, which include technical infra-

structure as well as consulting and training, we support and

coordinate the use of e-learning within university education.

AUDIT DIVERSITÄTSGERECHTE HOCHSCHULE AN DER FOLKWANG UNIVERSITÄT DER KÜNSTE

Internationale Partnerschaften und Projekte sowie Internationa-lisierung von Studium, Forschung und Lehre spielen eine zentra-le Rolle an der Folkwang Universität der Künste. Die qualitative Sicherung der Internationalisierungsbemühungen ist daher eines der wichtigsten Anliegen der Hochschule.

Die Folkwang Universität der Künste hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, im Rahmen der Initiative „Ungleich besser! - Verschiedenheit als Chance“ des Stifterverbandes für die deutsche Wissenschaft bei-spielhafte Strategien und Maßnahmen für den konstruktiven Um-gang mit studentischer Vielfalt zu entwickeln.

International partnerships and projects as well as internatio-nalisation of study, research and teaching play a central role at Folkwang University of the Arts. Therefore qualitative assurance is one of the major goals at Folkwang University.

Within the framework of the initiative “Ungleich besser! – Ver-schiedenheit als Chance” of the Stifterverband der Deutschen Wissenschaft, Folkwang University of the Arts has set the goal to develop exemplary strategies and provision for a constructive cooperation with collegiate diversity.

REFERAT INTERNATIONALES

Internationale Partnerschaften und Projekte sowie die Betreu-ung der internationalen Studierenden spielen für den konstruk-tiven Umgang mit studentischer Vielfalt eine zentrale Rolle an der Folkwang Universität der Künste. Das Partnerschaftsprogramm mit der Tsinghua University hat zum Ziel, künstlerisch exzellente Studierende aus China für ein Stu-dium an der Folkwang Universität der Künste zu gewinnen.Das Programm Interkulturelles Mentoring fördert im Rahmen des DAAD Programms PROFIN die Integration der internationalen Studierenden.Internationale Studierende und Studieninteressierte wenden sich bei allen Fragen zur Organisation des Studiums an der Folkwang Universität der Künste und zum Leben in Essen an die zentrale Beratungsstelle für internationale Studierende.

At Folkwang University of the Arts partnerships and projects

as well as the support of international students play a central

role in order to provide a constructive cooperation with the

diversity of students.

The goal of the partnership programme together with the Tsing-

hua University is to gain China’s artistic excellent students for

academic studies at Folkwang University of the Arts.

Within the framework of the DAAD programme PROFIN the

programme Intercultural Mentoring supports the integration

of international students.

All international as well as prospective students please con-

tact the Information Centre for Foreign Students concerning

the organisation of your courses of study as well as informa-

tion concerning living in Essen.

REFERAT OPTIONALE STUDIEN

Im Optionalbereich erwerben die Studierenden über die fachbezo-genen Handlungskompetenzen hinaus fachübergreifende (Schlüs-sel)-Kompetenzen, die den Aspekt der Berufsbefähigung und ge-sellschaftlichen Verantwortung stärken.

Fremdsprachenkenntnisse, interkulturelle, soziale, kommunikative und kognitive Kompetenzen sowie Medienkompetenzen, Einstiegs-hilfen in die Arbeitswelt, Praxisbezüge und interdisziplinäres wissen-schaftliches Arbeiten sollen die Studierenden befähigen, selbst stän-dig und selbstverantwortlich weiterzulernen (lifelong learning). UNIT OPTIONAL COURSES

In the electives area, students will gain cross-disciplinary key

com petences (soft skills) beyond the subject-based, which will

streng then their professional qualifi cations and social respon-

sibility.

Knowledge of foreign languages, intercultural, social, commu-

nicative and cognitive skills, as well as media skills, skills for

star ting out in the professional world, and practical components

and interdisciplinary academic work will enable students to keep

learning and furthering their skills independently and responsi-

bly (lifelong learning).

AND INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS

Our department answers to the director’s offi ce, and is tasked

with addressing the changing needs of study courses within the

scope of a modern, interdisciplinary education in the elective

courses. Furthermore we support and promote the cultural diver-

sity of students through different supporting and consulting of-

fers as well as through an international partnership programme.

The department functions as an interface for the diversity-sche-

me in order to enhance the quality and the competitiveness of

Folkwang University of the Arts, which is headed by the Vice

Rector for Studies, Teaching and Research, Prof. Dr. S. Klöckner,

and the Vice Rector for International Issues and Events, Prof.
