A note from the Editor..... Us Brits are often accused of talking about the weather too much, but as we enter into shorter summer days, with harvest approaching I can hon-estly say I will miss this summer very much. We weren’t able to take a fam-ily holiday this year, which my job ending but we have been truly blessed us with such a wonderful summer, we were able to spend qual-ity family time with our friends and my much loved ponies at the Horse Rangers. For which I am very grateful.

I hope that this summer has bought you too many blessing and given us all so much to be grateful for. As we move into the harvest season we will see all the wonderful gifts God has given us, poured out in splendour for us to enjoy and share together.

Review of our work with Children & Young People

Following the meeting with those who came

to give their views or sent in written com-

ments and suggestions the outcomes are:

From September 2013 there will be 3

groups for the children on Sunday’s,

younger members will continue to

meet in the Junior Church room under

the leadership of Olive and Judy. As

Kumon has ceased to use our prem-

ises the meeting room and prayer

room have been rearranged allowing

us to utilise more positively for our

Junior Church. Thanks to Hazel,

Danny, Barry, Judy Beth and Omi for

the time spent in moving furniture and

equipment up and downstairs. The

children have chosen their names for

the groups – Foals for the under 5

years; Ponies for the 5 – 9 year olds

and Horses for those 10 years plus.

One comment the young people have

requested that the family prayers are

included when they are in church –

Leadership Team will be discussing

this further.

Views that the young people liked to

be included in their address and not to

be talked to, to be engaged in this part

of the service.

The young people to create a list of

hymns and songs of their choice for

the second hymn each week. Iris will

send the list to nominated preachers.

Family service on the 5th. Sunday to

be better advertised and more related

to the younger members of the church.

Consider a service to celebrate the

baptisms and weddings that have

taken place and to individually invite

those families to a service.

Parents and others to be invited to

Junior Church or the suggestion that

Junior Church happens in the worship

area occasionally.

A fruitful discussion including our young peo-

ple has certainly given us food for thought and

some changes. Leadership Team will be dis-

cussing further the suggestions given. Margaret Smith

Back to School!

Have you started a new

school or are you in a

new class now?

It can be tough getting

back to school after sum-

mer holidays. But it can

be great to see friends

and learn again.

What did you do over the

summer holiday?

Bible Study

How to Study your Bible?

We are going to work step by step at exploring Gods word each month. Lets start by getting organised. You will need: a bible (we like good news, NIV bibles, choose one you can read), some pens & pencils, in-dex cards, a dictionary.

"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by

the seeds that you plant."

Robert Louis Stevenson

“thank you all for the invitation to join you for a little while when you had your sleepover at church. It was great having the opportunity to look at your work. I especially liked the pretty boxes you made—and I much

enjoyed the lovely tea! X

PILOT News

Pilots spent an active weekend at the

church leading to their service on the

Sunday, all slept well and on the Sunday

Pilots finished their return letters to chil-

dren from Bbraska School in Zambia.

Pilots were thrilled to receive letters

from the children of the school in the

country they had been taking a closer

look at and hopefully are going to con-

tinue with their pen friends, sharing

news and details of their countries.

Pilots contributed and led their service

on the 30th. June 2013 with exceptional

confidence and many who attended have

said how much this ser-

vice was appreciated.

Pilots restart on 13th.

September 2013 at

5.30pm.
