The ATEO was primarily set up to educate, train and promote all aspects of airgun shooting to the public by a small group of dedicated air gun shooters and in doing so improving the image of airgunning within the UK. This has now grown with dedicated coaches across the country.

Our mission is to encourage people of all ages and abilities to enjoy their chosen air gun sport. We believe this can be enhanced by having appropriate training without harm, or injury to persons or wildlife, or any detriment to the environment.

Since its inception the ATEO has developed professional training programs for various youth, blue chip and agricultural organisations focussed on highlighting the dangers of misusing guns of all types, laws and legislation , promotion of proper and safe use of the equipment, despatch methods and other important information required to safely use and store airguns. ATEO have now joined forces with Iconic British Airgun manufacturer BSA Guns (Uk) Ltd to provide professional and relevant courses to all corners of the Airgun industry. All courses are now backed and certified by BSA Guns (UK) Ltd allowing ATEO access to facilities and equipment not seen by any other Airgun training service.

ATEO AIR GUN COURSES IN PARTNERSHIP WITH BSA GUNS (UK) LTDThese courses have been written so that any one that is interested in controlling a range, training at club level or pushing the boundaries as an ATEO coach can meet the standard set in the area and then move forward within the qualification. There are also qualifications for any one working within the pest control industry or wishing to become a professional pest control operative.

As an organisation we recognise that some people have completed training and qualifications in the field of shooting that can be brought forward, meeting some of the performance and knowledge requirements within the qualification. By establishing this partnership with BSA Guns we deliver the best training with the best Air Rifles around.

AIR GUN PROFICIENCY PROGRAMThis course has been written so that anyone that is interested in showing that they have attained a set standard to maintain the safety of themselves and others when using an air gun, and is able to follow the legislation that is current in the use for air guns.This can help gain shooting venues or be used at clubs to show that members and visitors have met a level of safety and use that is the ATEO minimum for the use and ownership of any form of air gun.

PEST CONTROLThe Pest Control courses are aimed at anyone that works within the pest control industry or gamekeepers who need to humanely dispatch air gun pest species in rural and urban areas.Tailored training to cover the pest species and type of equipment used, with an emphasis on risk assessment, record logs and due diligence.

Delivery MethodOne to one, group training at venues to suit with explanation and instruction from experienced trainers, offering support, tuition and advice.Observation of shooting ability, identification of pest

species with questions to gain qualification.

RANGE CONTROLThe Range Control Officer course covers the skills and knowledge that are needed to maintain the safety of shooters, instructors venue, equipment, spectators and others on a variety of different ranges and range of airguns for both young and old, in youth organisations, shooting clubs, activity centres, schools, fairs and other venues to the ATEO standard.
