Innovative Educational Approach
Testimonials
Dr. Hislop presented a professional development for teach-
ers at the Linden SDA School on preparing students for the
New York State English Language Arts examinations
Grades 3-8. Dr. Hislop was an excellent presenter. She pre-
sented her ideas with such clarity and poise that the teach-
ers got a clear understanding on how to prepare students
for the exams. We would love to have her present on other
topics in future professional development workshops that we
are planning . G. Joseph/Administrator
Dr. Hislop is a dynamic presenter, master teacher and an
expert staff developer. Among other educational topics, she
is an expert on data-driven approach to teaching litera-
cy. She has authored articles on this topic and her experi-
ential support in schools has resulted in higher test scores
for students. She was instrumental in motivating our edu-
cation administrators to transform the instructional ap-
proach in the classroom by first studying student test data
followed by mapping instruction based on that data. In
classrooms where teachers followed her outline the stu-
dents' spring test scores doubled that of the fall.
