Constructing Journal Week 9 Tutorial - 3D drawing I had a few issues when it came to try- ing to draw my 3D version of the section drawing . I had to try many times to get my drawing to the stage that it is now. Initially I made a cube to lead me in the correct direction when making my draw- ing 3D. I then extended out all the lines as seen in the drawing above, after ex- tending out the lines the drawing began to take more form and it was easier to understand. The image above shows my finished 3D drawing. The bricks are aver- age 110mm wide bricks with 10mm thick mortar between them. Some insulation can be seen to the left, and a glass roof with glazing is sitting on top of the building. The brick wall is part of an existing building and that is why it is so much taller than the roof (it extends even further but I cut it off) This design is most likely to fail at the joints as most things are. There are many joints involving nuts and bolts, but also silicone joints where the glass roof is involved. Silicone Joint Existing Brick Wall

Reading and Glossary Word
A gasket is a piece of rubber or metal (mainly) used to seal between two joined pieces of pipe or surfaces. It stops water or other substances from leaking through.
The reading this week which was about different types of finishings was interesting because a finishing makes a building transform totaly and look ‘complete.’ Finishing ranger from flooring to plaster and veneers. These things all play a vital role in the aesthetic qualities of a design.
