•  Harry Hines/NW Hwy/I-35/Justice Way Areao  Summary: Crews will continue bridge construction from just west of Harry Hines/

road will remain in place for a few weeks.

•  Loop 12/SH 114 Frontage Road Area 

o  Summary: Expect construction activity and increased truck traffic for the differed Loop 12

Station along the 114 frontage road around Loop 12 and the old Texas Stadium.

o  Construction Activities: Grading and Station Work.

o  Road Closures/Restrictions: Expect construction activity for the deferred Loop 12

right lane of the westbound SH 114 frontage road. Please use caution with the increased

construction traffic.

•  Teleport Blvd/Riverside Drive Area 

o  Summary: Bridge construction, crossing and track work continues along Teleport from

Riverside Dr thru to Las Colinas Blvd. Minor lane restrictions may be required for

miscellaneous construction activities. Teleport Blvd will continue be closed permanently

at SH 114 to thru traffic. Access to business drives along Teleport will remain open.

Please use caution in this area with changing traffic configurations. Pedestrians should

not enter construction zones, please use alternate walking and jogging routes. Motorists

are advised to use caution when traveling through this area and obey the advised, posted

speed limit of 25 mph.

o  Construction Activities: Bridge Construction, Track Work, and Crossing Work. 

o  Road Closures/Restrictions: Miscellaneous lane drops will be required along Riverside

Dr and Teleport over the next few weeks for systems operations. Please use caution

when traveling through the area. 

•  Lake Carolyn Pkwy Area

o  Summary: Construction activity continues along the Lake Carolyn Pkwy area. Current

activities include station and crossing work that will require various lane closures andtraffic configurations to provide a safe work space for crews to complete construction

activities. Station construction activities are underway that will impact traffic on both

northbound and southbound Lake Carolyn Pkwy, south of O’Connor. Pedestrians should

not enter construction zones, please use alternate pet walking and jogging routes.

Motorists are also asked to monitor construction updates and observe and changed

speed limits or traffic configurations when traveling through this construction zone.

Motorists are not permitted to enter or park inside construction zones. Additional lane

restrictions and rolling closures may be required to provide a safe work area as crews

continue to progress with the project.

o  Construction Activities: Crossing Work, Curb Removal, Track Work, Grading, and

Station Work. 

o  Road Closures/Restrictions: Southbound Lake Carolyn Pkwy, just south of O’Connor

will continue to be closed thru the end of next week (June 17th). There will be

miscellaneous closures on O’Connor Blvd for signal work for the next several weeks.

Please use caution when traveling through the area. •  Irving Convention Center

o  Summary: Expect to see increased truck traffic and construction activity around the

Convention Center area for station and track work. Bridge construction activities will

continue in this area. Please continue to monitor construction alerts for changes to traffic

configurations or detours. There will be heavy construction activity in this area as crews

continue work on the bridge structure that will extend over SH 114. 

o  Construction Activities: Grading, Station Work, Track work, and Bridge Construction. 

o  Road Closures/Restrictions: Various night closures in this area will be required for thecompletion of the track work over SH 114. Please continue to monitor construction alerts

for details regarding these closures. Restrictions of the eastbound SH 114 frontage road

will remain in place through May as crews complete bridge construction operations in the

area. 

•  Green Park/Meadow Creek/Carpenter Ranch Area

o  Summary: Construction activity continues in the Carpenter Ranch area around the

Meadow Creek/Green Park Dr intersection. Expect to see heavy construction activity for

bridge construction, crossings, and paving in this area. Some night closures and traffic

restrictions may be required to provide a safe work area. Please use caution when

traveling through the area with the increased activity, and monitor construction alerts to

minimize travel impacts.

o  Construction Activities: Grading, Bridge Construction, and Crossings. 

o  Road Closures/Restrictions: Various lane restrictions may be required near the

intersection of Green Park and Meadow Creek. Please use caution when traveling

through this area. 

•  North Lake College/Macarthur Area

o  Summary: Heavy construction activity is moving into the North Lake College and

MacArthur area with grading, walls, bridge construction and station work. Heavy activity

will continue around the North Lake College entrance off MacArthur and around

MacArthur Blvd (including the median of MacArthur Blvd) to prepare for the bridge

structure that will extend over MacArthur to North Lake College. Please use extra caution

when traveling through this area and monitor changes to speed limits or traffic

configurations. Plan your routes and allow extra time to reach your destination.

Pedestrians should not enter construction zones, please use alternate walking and

 jogging routes. o  Construction Activities: Grading, Bridge Construction, Walls, and Station Work. 

o  Road Closures/Restrictions: Heavy truck and construction traffic along Brangus Drive

to Walnut Hill and at the Brangus/Walnut Hill intersection will continue for the next few

weeks. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic as necessary. Please use caution when

traveling through this area and allow extra time for travel. 

•  Walnut Hill/Hurd Area 

o  Summary: Heavy construction activity will continue in the Walnut Hill/Hurd area through

early 2011. Construction traffic will be extremely heavy in this area over the next few

weeks as crossing work moves into the area. Please use caution when traveling through

the area and observe changes to traffic configurations and detours. 

o  Construction Activities: Utility Relocations, Grading, Walls, and Crossings. 

o  Road Closures/Restrictions: Crossing work for Hurd Drive will continue over the next

several weeks with variations to the traffic pattern. This work will require a full closure of

Hurd Dr. Variations of this closure will be required for 2-3 months to complete the

crossing work. 

•  DFW Area 

o  Summary: Construction activity continues in the DFW area through the spring. 

o  Construction Activities: Utility Work and Bridge Construction. 

o  Road Closures/Restrictions: A full closure of Valley View between Belt Line and SH

161 will still be required for crossing work for the next several weeks. Thru traffic will use

Gateway Dr as the detour. Right lane of the SB 161 frontage road will continue to be

closed through June. Right lane of the NB 161 frontage road will continue to be closed

through June.

SH 114 Frontage Rd at Cistercian

Construction Update 

The DART Orange Line construction is quickly moving along the corridor and through the SH 114 frontage

road area. Construction activities will be in preparation for the light rail system that will extend from downtownDallas, through Las Colinas, and eventually connect to the DFW airport.

In an attempt to minimize impacts, weekly construction updates are emailed out. This helps provide a moredefinitive answer to many construction questions, and provides notice to areas that may experience upcomingtraffic delays or construction activity.

Saturdays, June 11 & 18 full closures of the westbound SH 114 frontage road, including the onramp to westbound SH 114, at Cistercian Road will be required for bridge construction. This detour will take place on three consecutive Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please note that all dates are tentative as they do not 

ccount for weather delays or other schedule impacts. a 

 Saturday, June 11 & 18 7:00 a.m. to 7:00p.m. - The westbound SH 114 frontage road,including the onramp to westbound SH 114,will be closed.

Detour traffic should take Cistercian Road tothe eastbound SH 114 frontage road, proceedonto eastbound SH 114 to the Spur 482 exit,

and back onto westbound SH 114.

Access to the Cistercian Preparatory Schoolwill remain open.

Signage will be present to direct motorists.Please use caution when traveling through thisarea with the increased construction activity.

In an attempt to minimize impacts, weekly construction updates are emailed out.This helps provide a more definitive answer to many construction questions, and provides notice to areas thatmay experience upcoming traffic delays or construction activity.

These lane restrictions are needed to provide a safe work area as crews continue station and crossing work.As construction proceeds over the next couple of years, additional lane restrictions and configuration changeswill be needed to accommodate other construction activities. Signage will be present to direct motorists.

The following configuration of Lake Carolyn Pkwy is scheduled to begin May 4 and will remain in place for 4-5 weeks to provide a safe work area for crews so continue the APT connection work.
