Constable’s Corner BILL GIPSON, CONSTABLE DALLAS COUNTY CONSTABLE OFFICE PCT 2 QUARTER 2 Volume 2, Issue 2 APRIL– JUNE 2019 FROM THE DESK OF THE CONSTABLE I have never been the one to put much thought into celebrating my birthday or having birthday parties. This year is a little different from others. Turning 40 years old represents a time of change for me. Now, looking at the first six months of my term, I see changes. Dallas County Constable Office Precinct 2 has embarked on change. It is important the staff not only see Bill Gipson as a change, but also see the change in how we deal with and face our challenges as peace officers. Training can be a challenge. Funding is a big part of training, but timing and staffing is paramount in accomplishing the task of training. For Precinct 2, all of our deputies are encouraged and are given the opportunities to receive advanced training. After some serious and tedious planning, at the end of this TCOLE training cycle, all of Precinct 2 deputies will have an intermediate or above TCOLE license. One challenge down, many more to go!
