BANKS CHOOSING TO SUBMITTHE NARRATIVE STATEMENT SHOULD ENSURE THAT THESTATEMENT DOES NOT CONTAIN THE NAMES OR OTHERIDENTIFICATIONS OF INDIVIDUAL BANK CUSTOMERS ORANY OTHER INFORMATION THAT THEY ARE NOT WILLINGTO HAVE MADE PUBLIC OR THAT WOULD COMPROMISE THEPRIVACY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. The optional statement must be entered on this sheet. The state-ment should not exceed 100 words. Further, regardless of thenumber of words, the statement must not exceed 750 characters,including punctuation, indentation, and standard spacing betweenwords and sentences. If any submission should exceed 750 charac-ters, as defined, it wil be trncated at 750 characters with no noticeto the submitting bank and the truncated statement wil appear asthe bank's statement both on agency computenzed recrds and incomputer-file releases to the public.
All information furnished by the bank in the narrative statement
must be accurate and not misleading. Appropnate efforts shall betaken by the submitting bank to ensure the statement's accuracy.
The statement must be signed, in the space provided below, by asenior offcer of the bank who thereby attests to its accuracy.
If, subsequent to the original submission, material changes aresubmitted for the data reported in the Report of Condition andIncome, the existing narrative statement wil be deleted from thefiles, and from disclosure; the bank, at its option, may replace it witha statement, under signature, appropnate to the amended data.
The optional narrative statement wil appear in agency recordsand in release to the public exactly as submitted (or amendedas descnbed in the preceding paragraph) by the management ofthe bank (except for the truncation of statements exceeding the75O-character limit descnbed above). THE STATEMENT WILL NOTBE EDITED OR SCREENED IN ANY WAY BY THE SUPERVI-SORY AGENCIES FOR ACCURACY OR RELEVANCE.
